  1. Majorly blue balled by the Rangers on this one. So close.
  2. I've never been to Utah, but there are most likely Coyotes there. Just keep that in the meantime.
  3. Some major butterfly effect shit going on with this. lol
  4. I love those jerseys and the whole logo and everything. It sucks that they finally started using them again last year and now they're moving. lol
  5. I think they can. Baltimore is loaded and will give this team a run for its money for the division. That or the wild card is absolutely feasible, especially if the pitching can round out into form.
  6. With Gleyber, he has a lot of skill and ability, but his baseball IQ just isn't there, and he gets down on himself for everything. He's just mentally soft. I don't see them bringing him back anyway, because re-signing Soto needs to be a priority. DJ will be back soon enough and we still have Dominguez as well. I think their system now is the best it has been in a very long time. Lots of reasons to be excited otherwise.
  7. Yeah, everyone develops differently. Montreal fans were coming down pretty hard on Slafkovsky and he had a nice year this season, and I think is looking more like the player they hoped for. That's just one kind of example.
  8. A guy with left-handed power was needed at Yankee Stadium. Who knew? lol One of my main critiques about this team the last few years was that they basically had no left-handed power hitters, and were far too right-handed down the lineup. Soto is a franchise player, generational type of talent who really needs to be retained at all costs. Getting Verdugo was a nice move as well. A solid lefty hitter who works counts and draws a lot of walks. This current lineup feels more like the old school Yankees lineups where they have patience and work at-bats. So far my big disappointments are Torres being absolutely terrible in all facets and the infield defense being pretty terrible.
  9. If I recall, wasn't Laf one of the more vocal Rangers when it came to speaking with Drury about not liking Gallant?
  10. Yeah, Laf, as a first overall pick, came into a situation that most first overalls don't come in to, a team ready to contend. His growth was stunted a bit because of that. This year? Absolutely tremendous strides. The fact he did what he did without really much PP time is pretty incredible. I don't see how Lav doesn't re-evaluate that for next season. Get him some time on the top unit and see what he does.
  11. Agreed. I feel like the last four or five drafts have been quite good. They were also fortunate to end up with a first overall pick in a year where, normally, they really wouldn't be a lottery team. But, it was something that worked out great for the Rangers. I think they have drafted a good combination of possible future stars as well as good bottom six guys and depth pieces. At the very least, I think they will be more than competitive further down the road, even when Panarin and Mika aren't here, or in the twilight of their careers.
  12. It wasn't a must-win or anything, but if you're going to lose two out of three, that's the way to do it. lol They definitely needed that. I'm still concerned about the rotation and rather piecemeal bullpen. Hopefully Cole and Kahnle come back sooner than later because they are very much needed. Stanton playing better is going to be huge for this team. I really hope it keeps up and he remains healthy.
  13. I think they have been. Obviously not everyone will work out, but I still like who they have been picking. I think Drury has done a nice job so far of keeping the current team good, while re-stocking the farm and ensuring (hopefully) a successful future. We could be seeing one of the best eras in Rangers hockey.
  14. The finale was one of the best finales of anything I've seen in recent memory. Incredible, and an awesome set up for season two. Another season hasn't been officially confirmed, but there's already rumblings about it. I mean, it's going to happen. lol The show has been a rousing success for Amazon. You don't really need to have played the games, or have any context at all to enjoy it. Yeah, you might miss some small references, but it's really not a big deal. Just a well done show, in general.
  15. That is indeed true. Michael Kay was talking about it during the game and he said nothing is wrong with health-wise, he just decided early on this season he was just done, that it was time.
  16. ANYWAY, I'm very excited for this kid. He could wind up being the steal of the draft. Hopefully we'll find out in a couple of years or so.
  17. Thanks for the memories, Coyotes. I will always hold your late 90's teams of Roenick, Tkachuk and Khabibulin close to my heart. I really liked those teams. Other than that, it hasn't been so hot there for the most part. They did have Shane Doan, so that's something. Happy trails.
  18. Washington has been playing shutdown playoff hockey for about two months or so. One thing the Rangers really need to stop doing is giving up the first goal. Despite their success, that's been a major problem for what feels like one or two months of hockey. You give Washington the lead off the bat, and they're just going to start grinding and frustrating you, and the Rangers may have some serious issues countering that.
  19. This will be a cool watch, but at the same time, I don't want to be reminded of just how close this was and how it slipped through their fingers. Instead, the Rangers enter their worst stretch in team history and the rest is history with Sakic staying in Colorado.
  20. Just like Washington for the last month or two. lol Nothing will come easily.
  21. I mean Boston is definitely a step or two down from what they were last season. They are still really good, though. I'd put those three teams mentioned above them too, but they are legit contenders even if there are more chinks in the armor this year than that ultimate season they had prior. This is definitely Toronto's best chance at beating them, though.
  22. Oh, they have one more game? Oops. lol I have no idea.
  23. Boston is still a really good team, though, but yeah, they had a ton of loser points this year.
