  6. As you may have noticed, we are attempting to clean up the trolling and over the top negativity across the forum. We understand that our users are passionate about the Rangers and when things go poorly with the team we all want to express our frustration, but there is a right way and a wrong way to do that. It has become unfair to our members who want to enjoy the discussions, both positive and negative, of our New York Rangers. We will no longer tolerate harping on the same topic over and over. If you've already stated something, like your displeasure for a player, then your next post on that same topic needs to bring a fresh insight. Example: That's fine once in the GDT in the heat of the moment. The second time, it's harping. The 50th time, it's just a nuisance. Comments like these have no place outside of the GDT. Example: That's all fine for the GDT or any other thread related to Nash. Over the top, profanity filled rants are no longer welcome anywhere on the forum at any time. You can use profanity to emphasize a point or displeasure, but if you come on to the forum only after the Rangers are losing to post a series of expletives about a number of players or the team, only to disappear again, you're no longer welcome here. If you can't post without a string of curses, perhaps this isn't the forum for you. If you constantly post on the same topic (such as your displeasure for a specific player/coach or situation) in multiple threads where the topic is something all together different, you will be considered trolling and will receive an infraction. If you receive a warning or an infraction and don't understand why, feel free to ask. However, lashing out at a moderator who issues a warning or infraction will receive another infraction or possible banning. Be polite and we will explain why we came to the conclusion we did and if there was a legitimate misunderstanding, we may rescind the warning/infraction all together. We are often critical of the team we support, wanting, needing them to be better. Well we need to be better here, too. And this needs to be a better place. We can no longer ignore those who ask us to do something about this problem, while bending over backwards to be fair to those causing these issues. There are forums on the internet centered around the New York Rangers where members can and are as nasty and childish as they like. If that's the type of experience you are looking for, then by all means, find one of those. This will no longer be that place. Thank you and LETS GO RANGERS!
  7. #BOOM, baby! It’s the fourth annual BlueshirtsBrotherhood.com Playoff Beard contest! The hell is a Playoff Beard contest, you ask? The answer, my simple friend, is simple as well! It’s a contest hold here annually at the start of the NHL playoffs where volunteering forum members participate in a contest to grow their beards out for the duration of the NHL playoffs. As the playoff rounds continue to pass, quarter finals, semi finals, finals and Stanley Cup final they’ll be uploading photographic evidence of their progress to share with us along the way. At the end of the playoffs the day after the Cup is hoisted, all the participants will upload their last photo, and each of those photos will then be included in a final poll that you, the users of BlueshirtsBrotherhood.com will vote on to determine the winner of the 2013-14 Blueshirts Brotherhood Playoff Beard contest! The rules for the contest are simple: 1. No mustaches, goatees, etc. You are allowed to “groom” your beard within reason, but this is a contest for beards, not mustaches or goatees or any other odd-ball facial hair styles you can think of. Understandably not everyone can grow the best full beard, but do your best to. Intentional mustaches, goatees, etc. aren't acceptable. 2. No major cutting. The body of your beard must be as full as you can allow it to be. We understand that people have jobs and can't look like bushman (if they don't choose to), but a beard's "epicness" often relies on it's body, which means if you spent a lot of time cutting it's length and volume, you butcher the idea from the start. 3. Photos are required. It’s not that we don’t trust you, but well, we don’t. This is all based off an honesty system as it is, so the least we ask is that you document the process for us so we can actually see it while it’s happening. Prior to each round you will be required to upload a photo online to post in this thread to update us all on the progress of your beard. At the end of the Stanley Cup finals your final photo will be uploaded and shared, and that photo will be used to compete you against the other contestants in the contest to determine the winner. * FIRST PHOTO IS DUE BY GAME DAY OF THE FIRST ROUND! * That’s it, folks! Happy growing! 2010-11 Champion: G1000 2011-12 Champion: G1000 2012-13 Champion: G1000 Are you in? If so, let me know by posting in this thread!
