QUOTE(S) TO NOTE:

“I think when it got to be 2-0 we got a little frustrated obviously in trying to chase. We talked about it a bit, we kind of got away from our game. I don’t know if we were trying to get those two goals back as quick as possible and got impatient.”

Wow, I got a totally different impression actually watching the game. Georgiev was bad, but not the reason they lost.

Not specifically or only him, but one guy made big saves early and one didn't. It was a difference maker.

Story of his career.. or at least last two seasons or so. Guy is decent enough but never wins games for you. You need a goalie to occasionally win you a game or two. Or at least not deflate the team by letting goals in at bad times.

We had a good first period and definitely looked the better team. Kakko had a few really good looks. Vanacek made some very good saves that, as the better goalie, he made look easier than they were. totally changed the outlook of the game.

Georgiev never really looked comfortable and that definitely impacts the rest of the team

Meanwhile, the team went the entirety of the 2nd period without even attempting a shot from below the hashmarks.

If you want a fun stat Zib and Panarin combined for a total of 0 shots on goal last night. Not going to win many games like that.

Nope. So it really flies in the face of the story that Georgiev let the team down. He stinks, no doubt. But they didn't play well enough to win outside the first 5-10 minutes of the game.

But alas, there's another chance tonight and Dallas needs to start the season with a beatdown.
