  1. So I met up with @Ozzy and @RJWantsTheCup. Fun time. Beers were flowing. They took me to a rather “questionable “. Pub but it’s all good. We had fun. Some women had all their teeth so that’s a plus. Get home and climb into bed and the better half rolls over to say “hey you survived” Now I want wait for the morning to meet my contractor and pretend I’m sober lol big rangers win!

  3. I just don't understand the angle of having any sympathy for this player. The Rangers are not out to get him they are in the business of winning hockey games. VK obviously didn't present them with the best option in their minds. This team drafted him 9th overall so obviously they think highly of his talent and potential. They have apparently made it known to him that they expect better conditioning in which the player has refused to improve. VK having zero in terms of resume at the NHL level gets hurt during camp and gets outplayed by others within the organization for his spot on the team. Having no NHL resume leaves him with an incomplete showing in camp which he then needs to take to Hartford to prove he is ready for the NHL and better suited to help the team win then say Gauthier. What seems to be lost on this player is that his situation is not solely determined by his wants or play. There are other players the organization obviously think highly of competing with him for that roster spot. The organization cannot build a winning team gifting anyone anything. What VK doesn't seem to understand is that because of his lofty draft position, it would take minimal "showing" for him to be promoted. The Rangers desperately want him to be the impact player he thinks he is. So show that for half a second and work half as hard as he complains and he'd be exactly where he wants to be. Problem is he's an entitled punk and yes giving in to that would be a cancer within the room.

  4. This guy who supposedly hates Euros just gave Zib and Igor huge long term contracts, has Nemeth as 3rd pair D, kept Lundqvist and Hajek over Jones, and kept Georgiev over Kincaid as 2nd G.

  10. Thoroughly enjoying the windmilling and projections to paint Drury as some sort of beastly gollum lumbering around the halls of MSG baying for fresh Russian meat tbh.

  11. Keith Olberman talking about people being out of their mind. Talk about pot meeting kettle. Part of nurturing a player would be instilling in the player a work ethic if he doesn't have one. To coddle or excuse a young player who doesn't want to work is ridiculous. That player will never work out anyway. It seems to me that VK was told for 2 years at least to put in the work and each time he had a tantrum. So yeah watching a kid waste away his talent may result in a last ditch effort to get through to him. It all goes back to the entitled lazy player. To come to the conclusion that Drury is now Buddy Revel from 3 o'clock high is completely unfair and typical internet speculation. Drury has a history in this league and in the spotlight, going all the way back to little league. There has never been any report that he's not a great person or teammate. In fact his greatest asset as a player was exactly the intangible of him being a leader. If Messier dressed down VK everyone here would be all for it not questioning if he was a bully

  12. The negativity on these GDTs is so much worse this year than years past…it’s like the fourth game of the season and we’re already playoff emotion knee jerk nonsense. We just won a game on the road against a big boy team in the league without three of our top 9. Really played even hockey period 1 and 3. Period 2? Well a good team is going to dominate you at times when you’re missing 1/3 of your lineup and that’s what happened. Our two top guys scored the goals, we hit everything that moved, and if this was a playoff game, you look at what happened here and think this is how you come home up 3-1 rather than 2-2. last year we are nowhere close to winning this game. This team would have folded on d and hoped to outscore the other guys, and failed. Worse, if it were playoffs, we’d probably have lost in the first period. the last bit that’s mind boggling to me is how down people are in our new bottom 6. Those guys are light years better than anyone we’ve had in that role in a long time. Hunt reaves and Rooney were excellent in the third, created a bunch of chances, hit everything, and do exactly what you want that line to do. that OT was also immense chill out y’all

  15. I hate that we use that word tw*t around here so freely. I get the point but I also get the point that times have changed. You touched on it later in your post. As someone like myself that is a bit more old school and just plain old I often find myself in a weird situation of thinking “ fuck that, this would never fly in my time” until I realize I sound like my dad when I said shit and he looked perplexed. We are in a weird time where we, as adults, need to understand that the rules have changed. It seems to me there is a timeline where false hope was given despite it not being deserved. We then fast forward nearly two years later where it was rectified and the kid did what was necessary to prove he wanted to be here. Let’s not forget that a guy like Gauthier was traded for after having 5 previous nhl games and never sniffed the AHL in this organization despite doing nothing here. Add in horrific rookie years for Kakko, a mediocre bubble year for Alf, and a roster spot for Lundkvist despite never seeing a minute of A time either and I’m starting to see how a kid might be confused. Gallant saying one thing one day and saying another thing day two and I think it comes together as a shit sandwich. All of us here would kill to be in this situation so we project thr “fuck that I’d do anything to prove my worth” but we aren’t in closed door meetings with player and management. I STILL actually haven’t seen a direct Kravtsov quote but I’ve seen ny post info that had to be leaked from the organization. Whole thing seems horribly horribly asinine from all parties. who here wins? Not us, and for all the fuckery going on we are then ones screwed in the end.

  16. We already played this fucking game. Since 2008 NHLers: Michael Del Zotto, Chris Kreider, JT Miller, Skjei, Chytil, K'Andre Miller, Kakko, Lafreniere Busts: McIlrath, Lias Andersson Undecided: Lundkvist, Kravtsov So I get 16 points, you get 2, and we'll probably each get one of the undecided. You lose.

  18. How does player of the game here not go to Ozzy, Keirik, and RJ for apparently getting shitwrecked and going to a sketchy ass titty bar?

  20. We also don't have nearly a large enough sample size to suggest that Drury only wants or cares for gritty players. Gritty players are who he brought in because the team lacked gritty players in spades. He also re-signed not-so-gritty players in Chytil and Zibanejad. We'll have a better idea of the GM he is (or isn't) with a larger body of work to judge.

  24. Wait...it's almost as if the Blues said " We know you want out and we're trying to move you, but work with us...your value is low...Just play and get your value back up, so we can get a good return" ... And he's doing it! Imagine that!

  29. We never got all of the details on what went on with Andersson, but he made it clear he was bullied in Hartford. Then his father came out and said he would never let his son play for the Rangers organization again. What players would bully him? Would players, who are temporary, cause him to say he'd want out of the whole organization? Or would it make more sense if it was a more permanent part of the org that made him feel this way? Speculation, but chances are that was Drury as well. Perhaps he has some preconceived notion about Euros being soft and goes out of his way to prove his own narrative. It certainly fits with the rest of his moves and decisions. Buchnevich out, hard nosed Blais in. These are children at this point. Sorry some are not as mentally tough as we'd prefer right now, but they are 18, 19, 20 years old. It is the job of the organization to nurture and grow them into what they need to be and it is imperative to recognize that for some, tough love may not be the answer. Players respond differently to different handling. That's two top 10 picks thrown away because they felt so strongly about how they were treated by the people at the top of our org. We screwed it up. That is a very back look.

  30. Well he watched guys like Howden, Kakko, and Laf have their chances handed to them regardless of performance or conditioning level. He was a top 10 pick as well, yet was treated differently and then bullied by the GM in Hartford after moving from Russia to play in the NHL after allegedly being told by Bobrov that he had his spot on the big club. Now he's cut again before camp after the coach seemingly said he deserved to be here and he was left off the prospect tournament team because he was apparently not a prospect anymore. I really can't blame, though I don't agree with leaving and wish he stayed.

  31. I was gonna let this one slide, but then I saw this post from the Rangers Twitter: How could this be the first game Shesterkin stole if he won 7 games while the team allowed 40+ shots? So I decided to look: 1/9/20 - Rangers 6-3 W vs. NJD 49 shots to 37 2/9/20 - Rangers 4-1 W vs. LAK 43 shots to 41 2/11/20 - Rangers 4-1 W vs. WPG 44 shots to 32 2/19/20 - Rangers 6-3 W vs. CHI 40 shots to 41 2/22/20 - Rangers 3-2 W vs. SJS 46 shots to 33 3/25/21 - Rangers 3-2 W vs. PHI 44 shots to 22 4/6/21 - Rangers 8-4 W vs. PIT 44 shots to 25 10/18/21 - Rangers 2-1 W vs. TOR 41 shots to 23 And courtesy of Evolving Hockey (h/t to @Drew a Penaltyfor the info), here are the advanced stats and GSAx for each one. So it was very clearly one of his best games. But his first steal? Nope.
