There is no correlation (zero,none) between guys like Hunt or Gauthier who are borderline NHLers at best and an NHL veteran with 15 years experience and an NHL record. In fact, trying to use those names as examples shows that either you have no concept of history in the NHL or just refuse to acknowledge it. The Flyers are a crappy team. They are going nowhere. They also aren’t improving for the future by keeping a 28 year old soon to be UFA that isn’t someone you “need to see more of.” You signed a guy on a one year deal with an iron man streak. The say you sign him, you acknowledge that accomplishment. If the Flyers were fighting for a playoff spot you can understand if he’s hurting the team. However they aren’t. Frivolously taking him out of the lineup just for shits and giggles on a craptastic team is exactly what’s always been wrong with that organization. They have no clue wtf they are doing and have no respect for the actual game. Just a silly thing to do.

No they literally decided to bench a borderline HOF instead of a 28 year old never was because they wanted to give a college guy his first NHL game. Couldn’t disagree more and it’s not even remotely the same as a Hunt or Gauthier or anything so I’m not sure why that’s being brought up. It’s a 15+ year NHL veteran. The Flyers signed him knowing his streak would be broken during the season and he’s been nothing but a pro. There was zero reason to scratch him so they could play a 23 year old rookie. They aren’t going to bring him back next year so you do the right thing as a professional organization and honor the commitment to the game Yandle has and let him decide on his own terms. All you had to do was dress 7 d if you wanted extra looks for prospects. He earned that right.

Only the Flyers. Don’t sign the dude if you don’t realize he’s going to want to play every day. Not like the organization is on the cusp of winning. I get wanting to get other guys some time so they should have done the right thing and dress 7 d, or scratch someone else. He’s signed for only this year. He’s earned it to just finish out the season and let the offseason decide if his streak ends. Not a shit organization.

Definitely. Depth doesn’t work when your complimentary players are asked to fill in for missing ones that play big minutes.

I k ow it’s rough for us fans against a rival but I’d rather this happen today then in 3 weeks for game 1 or 2 of the playoffs. Teams learn a hell of a lot more about themselves during losses than they do during easy wins. We will be fine. I have faith in this team all year. I’ll be damned if I waiver now.
