  1. If they don't the average age of their team goes down like 4 years lol
  2. I don't see any way you trade for Copp and not out him exactly where he fits perfectly right now. Gallant is too good of a coach to not.
  3. Yeah but so was a breakup with an ex many years ago. She's now my wife so time can heal lol
  4. OK I'll clarify. I'm saying there is no way any GM wouldn't do the homework to find out what the teams on his no trade list were before initiating a trade. If they believed it was expired, not filed properly, etc, then it's even more so on the GM to confirm in the first place. It was a cap dump so it's on the GM to verify EVERYTHING here.
  5. I m finding it hard to believe Vegas, who Dadonov has been on for the entire season, had no idea of a no trade clause on his contract when even websites list it. Every GM in the league knows each of their players and their contract details. I don’t doubt a list wasn’t fully submitted on accident, but there is no way any GM of caliber wouldn’t look into it rather than try to pull a trade and claim innocence
  6. Time heals a lot. Im not seeing how quotes from October show much of anything in late March. I don’t think he plays here this year but we shall see how a few summer conversations go I’d guess.
  7. Cop has to be your 3c , not wing. He’s a center. He can play wing but he’s a center. Moving him to wing to preserve the full aroma of stink for Chytil at center would be asinine
  8. I'm actually a 60/40 yes buy ill know more later
  9. Block it. Fuck Vegas and their cap circumventing. No real care to do anything g to help them, although the NHL I’m sure is happier with them in the playoffs.
  10. Buch for Copp in my mind would have been an awesome trade if we re-upped Copp at under 5m. Again, learning to navigate cap with value performance contracts. I’m hoping we do a little Billy Beane style cap managing sooner rather than later regardless of this seasons outcome if it’s not a cup celebration. Even after this trade deadline, look how little we actually traded. We have so much equity. We need to use this to obtain cost associated value
  11. Hunt is fine in a lesser role. His problem was that he was being used on the 2nd line which was never a good fit. BTW, I wouldn't just assume Blias comes back next year. Depending on how a guy like Motte does, he might be worth keeping even if it's the total white flag end of the Buch trade. Not saying it definitely happens but if there is some chemistry there with success, the one that brought you to the dance and all that
  12. You make time when you hear Bitettos name mentioned. Likely why we never had time for the Gourde deal today.
  13. We are in such a better position today than we were yesterday. We have 19 games to build chemistry. We still need wins but that’s to secure where we would like to finish, not to decide if we make the playoffs itself. That’s huge. We have youth that is going to gain experience. We added speed, grit, faceoff, and toughness. We are harder to play against today than we were yesterday. I, pretty excited for the rest of this season. We can do special things.
  14. I don’t know what Copps mindset is to answer that. Not every ufa signs 6 year deals. 2-3 years at 27 still takes him to another kick at the ufa can while in productive years if he ended up playing with better talent here. We are in a flat cap world. There aren’t going to be lines of teams looking to throw buckets of money at every ufa. He’s not going to command top dollar but he is sneaky good. Underrated I believe. Even last year his production wasn’t far off Strome and again, he didn’t play with bread. But he’s not the sexy name. If he goes off here though I m sure that changes. Copp probs ly can be had for 5m or less. Strome I’m hoping is 5.5 making this moot but we shall see. Either way, let’s enjoy this run.
  15. You can't bring up both sides. Strome is a second line player in your mind right? Is he currently paid like a second line center ? So how would it be one iota different to bring in another C that previously isn't performing at the exact second line production rate, pay him a bit less, and try to get good value out of a 2-3 year deal like they have with Strome if Ryan proces himself out of NY? Just because draft wise he was projected to be one ? Draft wise, a top 5 pick is projected to be more 1st line production in most cases so his pedigree really doesn't hold too much weight to me. Who hebwas before getting here and who he became once here is all that matters. If he's going to cost us too much, I have no problem trying to replicate that especially considering Copp does bring some other aspects to his game Strome doesn't. It's not a case of grass bring greener. It's a case of a today's NHL being a league where you really need to not pay for yesterday and instead look for good value of today and tomorrow.
  16. You don’t think you’re taking both sides here? He’s not a second liner in your eyes but using my thought that he can be as him asking two line money before ever replacing anyone? I’m not suggesting replacing Strome this season. There aren’t exactly a fuck ton of good teams with boat loads of cap space this coming offseason. He could look at it exactly along the lines of the Tangers giving him a 2-3 year deal at 27 to let him cash in several years from now with success. None of us know this. Sam Rosen. And the rights to Al Trautwig for cap implications
  17. I’m not saying it’s an exact seamless switch but I’m not discounting it. We are talking about 13 goals 22 assists for Copp 14 goals 29 assists for Strome so production wise it’s not a huge difference but we get a two way center instead that can win a faceoff. Production is especially not a big difference to me since Copp doesn’t play with Bread. If Strome asks upper 6 and instead you can do 4.5-5.2 for Copp, I might do that since it gives us a bit more flexibility elsewhere. Copp plays very important minutes that could give Ziby a bit of a rest too here and there
  18. As long as the Copp return isn’t huge, I say B++
  19. Worked well for Strome who perennial had 35 point seasons, sans his first full year, until he found a guy named Artemi. I’m not sure we can just dismiss it so easily. That’s all.
