  1. So i should gauge my own opinion around what players are held out of the lineup? GMs make dumb trades all the time. There's just as much reason to just say a guy is being held out of a lineup because he's not exactly vital to that lineup on any given day. Or because some GM showed interest. That doesn't mean it's some intelligent move. Yzerman said the entire team basically is available for the right price. Also, I didn't suggest Staal. I said i wouldn't be opposed to him. There's a big difference between saying "go get player X now" and "i wouldn't be opposed to player Y " Leddy won a cup when he was 21. He was not the guy there leading Chicago to a cup so I'm not sure that has much to do with anything. What backbone is Nick Leddy bringing? He has 31 hits this year. That puts him right on par with such bruisers such as Strome and Fox.
  2. Well, there are a lot of players better than Nemeth. My argument isn't as much around saying Lddy outright sucks as it is issue with the idea of "go get Leddy now." In no way should we be targeting Leddy specifically. he's even scarier to me because while he's tending down over a significant amount of years, he's been doing so on the younger side of 30. If it's a trade for nothing? Sure. I don't give up anything remotely significant for Nick Leddy though.
  3. I assume they would look at the consecutive games played with increasing save % and think it means something more than it does. maybe we can get Howden back?
  4. To further that, I have a hard time thinking Fleury would even accept that trade snyway. There’s a lot of bitterness there.
  5. Correct. Detroit is a shit show. Leddy leads the shit. Of course there are teams interested. His name still Carrie’s some importance. That doesn’t mean he would be a great trade. Saying he’s better than Nemeth doesn’t really mean too much. There’s an entire league full of better than Nemeth guys out there. You’re argument is “go get Leddy now.” Really. In 2022 they should be running to target getting a guy that hasn’t been a + in the NHL since the 14/15 season. Last year Leddy on a very good defensive team still found himself 26th on the team for +/- and worst among defensemen on the team. He’s lower half every year. Giordano has been in the league since 2005. Only 4 of those years found him a -. Larsson since 2011/12 and only 4 of those years - Chychrun even found a way to be a + on Arizona twice and he’s not even known for his defense. Leddy has been trending down for quite a while. I’m not saying he can’t be obtained but I hardly put him in a “go get him now” type of necessity at all. -91 since the start of the 15/16 season. Woof.
  6. Starfield is up there for me. Anyone else?
  7. Dude wtf. What time do your games end ?
  8. Exactly. She’s another story for a conversation in person rather than the internet lol . Speaking of, it was Purim apparently yesterday into today. We had some nice Hamentashen. Triangle jelly stuff. Meh. Passover soon though so yippy! Coincides for our playoffs I think so no beer for me for a good eight days. Currently doing my research on rubbing alcohol to see if it’s kosher for Passover. as for my typos. On my phone it’s far worse. @josh I hope Florida is treating you nice. Gdt ain’t the same without ya. I’m home now after a postgame nightcap. Leddy plays a ton so his +/- isn’t the end all be all, but on a team where Staal leads in +/- and has played over 100 games for us, I’d rather him return to play with Schneider and right wrong along the way. I’m sure Kreids, Ziby, et al would be happy to have his return since if nothing else, the dude knows wtf it takes here to play in front of an elite D. Sometimes, it’s about bringing in a presence that is familiar too. I think the Gourde trade for us would be similar to the Goring trade for the Isles back in the day. So so many similar stuff there except Goirde had already won while Goring hadn’t. However it’s the kind of guy you look back on 3 years and think it changed a fuck ton. I know it’s a pipe dream but for the love of gods, Larry you listen here so start typing how this is a fit please.
  9. Dude I'm sorry you don't realize Leddy is trash. Hes a shell of what he used to be. Not someone we need to target. Meanwhile, there are no defenders on that list known for defense. Maybe Seth Jones ? Product of Torts to an extent. I'm not sure where you are going with this.
  10. Lol I hear ya. Makar is the McDavid of d and Josi is the Draisaitl. I don't care. I love Fox
  11. Oh absolutely. Josi has an outside chance of finishing top 5 in the league on a team where he is the guy. I guess they have Forsberg but Josi is a stud.
  12. Islanders caliber ? Its the team that went to game 7 of the semi finals last year. They aren't having thebgrewtest year but it's our biggest rival. Records mean nothing. And the Rangers were "up for this one." Sometimes you just don't win. Zero probel with their effort tonight.
  13. Roman Josi is almost on top 10 scoring in the league. Dude is a beast and should win the Norris hands down.
  14. I don't think it was like a fix on purpose obviously. None of us do including you. But I have this feeling after the 2nd the referees said to both teams in that huddle that they didn't want to decide the game, then call a bs penalty on Alf. Then ignore a legit elbow to the face right in front of the play. That's asinine. And it indirectly leads exactly to the game winning goal right after.
  15. After a hell of a game, referees get to decide it. No problem holding LaFreniere accountable for a nonsense call but an elbow to the face. Nahhhhh
  16. Schneider showing some balls. Matt Martin barely I g down on you and you do what’s necessary to keep the puck in and absorb the hit
