  1. Blues I care less about. Penguins are very close to us and I’d rather have a cushion lol
  2. My God the penguins have to stop winning. On a serious tear
  3. I’m just trying to be a bit more realistic lol but I guess you never know.
  4. Thinking big…Patrick Laine? Rfa at years end so he could probably could still be even traded in the offseason for something as well.
  5. Weird you say that. Puckpedia has that total but capfriendly didn’t. I was always under the impression capfriendly was more accurate. I’m on board with adding a big name ticket but I just don’t see it happening without gutting something I don’t want to gut. I look at our two previous runs under Torts and AV. This roster currently supersedes those two prior runs. Maybe not if you looked at goalie because in a game 7 or elimination game I trust Hank before Shesty just since He’s been there before. However, Ziby is better than any 1c we had on previous runs. bread is better than any winger we had on runs. Kreider is better NOW than he was in any previous run. Strome is better than any 2c we had. Alf/Kakko are more talented than many other guys in the last couple of decades. On D, Fox is better than any Rangers to play for this franchise sans Leetch. Trouba is equal to many bruisers we’ ve had like Beukeboom. Miller is talented and mobile. Our D is solid. The pair itself of Lindgren and Fox gel so much and our 3 d roles with a highly talented D in Lundkvist or even Jones. Does this team need an outside big name? Who knows. This team is so much better than we realize though. NHL is seeing it so there’s that. Best thing to do in my mind is allow this team to work out what we have. 70 some odd days til trade deadline.
  6. Awww usually I just hope for them to all get anal fissures but this will do nicely
  7. Lol well fair enough. You def have me beat on that one. Cant argue that.
  8. Yes and no. Clearly he looks good on paper and had a plan that got him passed the interview and into a HC position. I just though that by year 3, the constant line switching, benchings, rolling guys that shouldn’t be playing anywhere near as much, not showing up early in games, etc just showed that he really had no answer and was I’ll prepared for this roster. I wish him well. I’m just extremely happy he’s gone from this organization.
  9. You mean me lol. I said he’s clueless. With us, he was in my opinion. Not 100% his fault. He was thrown to the wolves but the second he left, everything changed. This team isn’t more talented than it was under Quinn. It’s just playing like a team. Everything about this team is completely different. I never got the feeling the players bought into anything Quinn said. Part of it are roster changes but a lot of it is also because of who we have behind the bench.
  10. I’ll try to just do a bit of math here to get an idea of what we are working with next offseason. let’s say Chytil is gone along with his 2.3m cap hit. let’s also say Nemeth goes along with his 2.5m According to capfriendly, we start 8.7m cap space and add the two above for a total of 13.5m cap space next offseason. must retentions? Strome, Kakko, Blais let’s say 5.5m for Strome to stay (very team friendly) legs say 3m for Kakko for a bridge Blais has arb rights but hurt the year. Was on 1.5m. Let’s keep him at that. We are at 10m so 3.5m cap space. Let’s say we get another backup a bit cheaper. Say 1.5m. We are left with 2m. Rooney, Gauthier, Hajek?
  11. I’m not that interested in Hertl either but in all fairness he has been good in the playoffs as well. 42 points in 62 playoff games with 24 goals ain’t too shabby. That’s one less goal than Giroux has in 80+ playoff games.
  12. I’m sure Quinn is a good coach but I’m just not sure if he’s meant for the NHL. It’ll be interesting if he ever gets another gig or if he returns back to college. Hopefully wherever he goes he finds success and happiness.
  13. We have space this year yes. We have under 10m right now for next offseason while still needing to reup Strome and .Kakko, replace Geo, figure out what to do with Rooney, Hajek, and Gauthier. I don’t think there is much space to add anything but a rental. Even if you moved both Chytil and Nemeth it’s still incredibly tight just keeping the roster intact (except a backup G that isn’t as expensive) without the additions. Let’s say we managed to convince Strome to take 5m for 3 years and bridged Kakko at 3m. That leaves under 2m for the rest, or a tad under 7m if you dumped Chytil and Nemeth without adding a contract.
  14. Did I miss it when the league got rid of the salary cap? Lol
  15. Well of course. There is no reason why they can’t add a rental or two for a playoff run. All you have to do is be in it and let the chips fall where they may. We aren’t that far off so if we can add a piece AND get continual growth of Kakko and Alf then we are golden and pose a serious threat in the playoffs. what they need to do along the way of boosting a playoff roster is try to see if they can trade Chytil or Nemeth along the way. That 2.3m/2.5m cap space is going to be vital this coming offseason if we want to keep Strome.
  16. I agree if there weren’t a taxi squad. However there is. I just think that is the perfect buffer to get him skating with the club without the drama. I’m not suggesting inserting him in the lineup right away.
  17. I’m not disagreeing with you. I just don’t believe that this group is mentally fragile to where a Kravtsov would ruin that. Vitally would have to do some explaining to the team to be accepted and show a good work ethic from the taxi squad most likely. I just don’t shut the door and I trust Gallant very much to know exactly how to handle it if he was brought back in.
  18. Last year we had a clueless coach. Now we have Gallant who very much commands respect. We also didn’t have Reaves, Goodrow,, Nemeth. We also have seen an increased voice from kreider,Strome,Ziby. I find it hard to believe that a 21 year old Kravtsov would ruin that in March or so if he was brought in skating with the team and taking it from there.
  19. Our team is veteran enough that one guy wouldn’t upset the whole group so I don’t think the chemistry would be affected that much. if his season is over early, I’d certainly extend an olive branch and take it from there. Never close the door on young talent.
  20. Glad we are all finally on the same page that Quinn just wasn’t a good coach for us.
