  1. No argument here, but I don’t see Philthy dealing with us
  2. Good, now take this report to JT Millers camp and see if he will take an extension of his exact contract
  3. Absolutely. I feel like Miller and Halak both make such perfect sense. One has already played for the Rangers and ticks every box. Plus he fits in cap wise next year whereas I doubt Strome returns for under 6m at all. Halak has already played in the area so there is a familiarity there too.
  4. Would be a great pickup. Dallas seems to be the kind of team that is never going to be completely out of the playoff picture though 7m til past the deadline so not sure he becomes available.
  5. Some great thoughts there. I whole heartedly agree on Neiderreiter. Always liked him. Good solid depth guy. @G1000i belive also mentioned Holtby. I figured if Vancouver looks to mix things up and trade JT, I can’t see them holding onto Halak either whos on a 1 year contract. He does have a NTC though and a package deal might cost more but I suppose they might accept Geo in return just to kick at the tires and see if a change for him strikes gold.
  6. The summer deals absolutely affected Fox’s deal. Just because he won the Norris doesn’t mean he suddenly just trumps every other highly talented Defenseman though. Sure it’s a notch in his belt but it doesn’t just guarantee a massive bump over his peers. He makes more than Quinn Hughes. The obvious comparison though is Makar and Fox. They are on very similar deals. Makar won the Calder. Fox later won the Norris. They both have identical stats. Fox won the Norris and Makar finished second last year in voting. I guess the confusing deal is Werenski but then you see 4 straight years of double digit goals including a 20 goal season in his repitoire. Plus he’s gotten Norris considerations as well.
  7. This league is treading some dangerous waters when GMs are paying primarily for talent above anything else to this extent. I get that the trend for a prime has changed to be younger that previous generations in the game but there has to be some actual accomplishments mixed in to validate this money. When Gms make these idiotic decisions, they affect the entire league going forward.

  9. What ungodly demonic creature could possibly have been running pp1 then?
  10. 100%. And there is also the other side of things thinking how are Kakko and Alf going to further develop if they dont even sniff any of these money spots. Kakko for all his woes did have good pp numbers his rookie season.
  11. Strome only has 4 pp assists and no goals all year though. I like Strome but he’s not exactly driving the pp this year.
  12. Kakko outscores him this year and Kaapos agent is going to point at this lunacy too.
  13. Woah. Crew starting to expand. Me likely.
  14. Starting a short list of guys that make sense for us for one reason or another. Feel free to add. JT Miller one year remaining next year at 5.25. Good all around player that still puts up points and is also is good from the dot. Yanni Gourde. 5.16m until end of 24/25 season. Obvious Strome long term replacement. Will turn 30 in a few weeks but is a proven playoff guy, has cups, still producing, and a reasonable replacement at 2c. Probably would take a couple of prospects to pry him away but doable on a team not really ready to compete. Dylan Strome. Young at 24, disgruntled rfa at the end of the year that can be bridged (currently at 3m). Has a 51 point season in 58 games in the past but tapered off last two seasons. Bonus points is we keep a Strome no matter what. Reilly Smith. UFA at end of the year. Obvious Gallant connection and Vegas needs to move money to get Eichel under the cap. RW rental that would fit in well and no long term cap implications.
  15. Yeah to be honest, I didn’t even think he had 40+ points twice. I only remember him as a tire fire but as you said, impossible to tell on that team. Just 8ft shorter
  16. He’s a tough one because he had over 40 points his rookie year and 40 in 59 his sophomore season before just falling off a major cliff
  17. Lol ah. Well I get it but it’s freaking Wayne Gretzky. Even when he was like 12 he had clout.
  18. The 94 team had a guy that spent time in prison for killing someone driving drunk He still took the last faceoff of game 7 lol
