  1. There will always be an option for a backup goaltender in the NHL. Geo is nothing special. Shesty is our guy. Think of how many backups Hank has had in his career.
  2. That’s definitely an option but Kinkaid has shown to also be way below NHL standards for us even last year at times. I can’t imagine they go that route.
  3. Because there is none. Sign him now while he’s mid interview saying he wants to be a Ranger for 6.5x5 and see how much he agrees. We resurrected his career so let him reciprocate the favor and have joy in rangerland.
  4. Did you claim it? I only saw where you wanted to bear his offspring
  5. He’s going to be the captain. You heard it here first.
  6. Especially on a team where we still aren’t 100% positive how many games Shesty really can play.
  7. It’s probably a bit of both. But I think you’re agreeing with me just in a different way. The rest of the NHL could easily pick up a GEO equal without giving up anything. He’s as average as it gets. True. But then it’s Kinkaid who likely also clears waivers as well. Kinkaid was a nice little story for 5 minutes but I think he’s even worse of a season long option than Geo. At least we know GEO can face the Islanders. The benefit of keeping Kinkaid would be that they can probably get his jock from the rafters the day they raise Hanks number.
  8. I know. I was agreeing with you. We are stuck with Georgiev since the rest of the NHL doesn’t want him.
  9. No argument there. I just think sometimes coaches see a guys size, or ability to jump out of a pool, and play or over commit lol
  10. Hard for him to go anywhere when the rest of the NHL has watched him play before. Our only hope would have been if the Islanders wanted him.
  11. I would dismiss this notion if we had the same front office. Kravtsov has been groomed to play this year. However, new regime could potentially mean everyone still looks like new shiny toys to Gallant. Gauthier, as Phil said, on paper appears very shiny and Kravtsov has looked a little slower this preseason compared to what he looked like his first few games last year. If Gallant doesn’t see Kravtsov in a top 6 role straight away, I could see him thinking Gauthiers size fits a lot better on a third line than Kravtsov will. I’m sure that would change 4 stupid penalties later or by the third game of the season.
  12. I still do t see Trouba going anywhere. Makes too much money and wanted to be only here (thanks Jeff!). The alternative is to trade chips instead for a fwd with a contract friendly price and term. Who that is remains to be known.
  13. I’m always up for some new recommendations. What’s your go to?
  14. The Yelp reviews are insane. I figure it’s nothing amazing but considering how good the reviews are, I am intrigued.
  15. I get their Sicilian, extra sauce. It’s decent enough. I’ve been hearing there is a place in wading river called la bistro that makes fantastic pizza. Think they have a second store in Cora, as well.
  16. He was hurt with an undisclosed injury, covid, and also suspended during the playoffs.
  17. Assuming healthy, I’m going to say he plays 65+ prior to last year where he played 37 out of 56 games, from 14/15 on he’s played 70+ games 5 out of 6 years. 81, 64,80,79,80,71, 37 ( shortened last season). I don’t see him playing anything under 65 or so based on every other year.
  18. I agree, I just think Gallant trusts him to take regular shifts so I don’t see him only getting certain games. Maybe if he’s banged up and we are doing very well he gets a rest here and there.
  19. They still did overcorrect because thry have guys like Tinordi or to a lesser extent Nemeth still when I don’t see them sniffing ice time much but it’s looking good so far.
  20. I’m willing to bet Reaves plays a lot more games than some of you think. He was a regular in the lineup for Gallant.
  21. It’s. Even a necessity for a long time on this team. A punishing 4th line that makes the opposition pay attention when they are on the ice. A different look than the top 6 and more punishing than a checking or energy line. But the biggest thing is that they also need to be able to play hockey as well. When a punishing line can also contribute from time to time is when you get into Islander 4th line territory. I’m really hoping we get there to that. It just allows the top 6 so much more room if the opposition has to plan around all the different types of looks coming at them rather than just saying to keep everyone at the perimeter and be able to coast through a game plan.
  22. I just cancelled by nhl tv subscription just in case they tried to auto renew it for next year. I’ve had ESPN+ for a year and a half already so I’m good there I assume? I want the ability to watch any and every out of town game live or at a later date. I hope they are smart enough to do it the same way as the nhl service did. Home;away choices, condensed game, etc.
  23. Colloseos for dinner tonight.
