Oh yippy -
I agree but the problem with that is it’s even harder of football. It’s just too big of a sport. Want to boycott? Great. But there will still be plastic fans, outsiders that look at a trip to Old Trafford as a life dream fro whatever other country, etc.

[brooks] Rangers' High-End Players, Quinn "do not see the game the same way,"

Lol again Larry? -
I’m all fairness the supporter mob was more interesting than watching Arsenal :p Very bad look for United supporters though. I mean what if it works and Glazer sells the team now? Then what? It makes them feel justified in what they did. If it doesn’t work and they refuse to sell? Then what?

Just wanted to throw it out there I’m getting them too. Very large, middle of threads. Noticed it tonight in the gdt. iPad, safari.

That’s a pipe dream to expect it to come from them just because even after they arrive, it’ll still take time for them to establish that part of their game unless they are elite level of that toughness/hard to play against.

No he doesn’t solve it completely but he’s a large pie e that moves the needle more than others. I don’t mind so much giving up things if it’s mostly from a D corps since we are so deep there in the prospect pool

I don’t know. Those days of never ever doing things are lessened lately if the deal is sweet enough.

Take a flyer on Tom Wilson. Perfect size, perfect position, perfect filled need. While I get it, he may be more difficult to obtain but still. The caps have under 10m in cap space with Samsonov, possibly Chara, and Ovy to reup. They can fit since I bet Ovy takes a discount but they have very little youth or cheaper contracts. They have nearly 58 million in cap hits tied up in 12 players (without Ovy) with only 3 of those 12 being 28 or younger. And only 4m of that comes off the books before the 23/24 season. Mantha isn’t the same but he provides some toughness and fits in well there. This could be that time where Wilson might be available and he has a partial ntc. 6 of their 8 d in rotation are 30+. We have plenty of highly touted D we could part with that are cost effective......

Position wise it’s a problem just because I think both of the Tkachuk are LWers and that’s where we are at our biggest log jam with Panarin, Alf, and Kreider. It’s a pipe dream to move Kreider and the other two aren’t going anywhere. If we want to address toughness with anyone impactful (meaning more than just a role player bottom 6) it has to be in center or RW positions, which really makes it tougher.

Well that’s part of the problem too. The likely path would be to hope Buch signs for a good value deal then use him to obtain a different type of player. Kakko, Kravtsov, and even laf who I think he made himself more untouchable in recent weeks are also so cost controlled for now. I don’t see how you move on from them. I still don’t think Strome wows anyone else around the NHL. If you are moving on from Chytil then you are looking mostly at a package of Buch and Chytil for something meatier I guess. Outside of possibly a team looking to blow it up (Calgary), I don’t see how you get meatier from many other teams. And we know the only way to get meatier from Calgary would be Tkachuk which not only costs more but already has a 7m cap hit going into his last year. Not very realistic. Maybe Ottawa’s Tkachuk? But it would take probably a top tier d prospect and a pick also and I don’t see them interested in Buch. Plus he’s an rfa. And positionally im not sure it fits either. Honestly, my target would be Tom Wilson even if it takes extra to wow them. They have a lot of long term contracts and only 9m in cap space. A few tough decisions are going to be made and a rw big tough guy is a lot more valuable to us than a Chytil, another pick, and a Lundkvist.

1. Coming to America or Trading Places? 2. Harrison Ford or Al Pacino? 3. Do you think it’s harder to be Joel Lundqvist in NY or Brent Gretzky anywhere in Canada? 4. Would you rather win one Stanley Cup sandwiched in between two Islander cups or neither team win for the next 5 years? 5. Who would win in a fight? Sam Rosen Larry Brooks?
