  1. There are just so many teams with negative or extremely limited cap space. So few teams are in any position where they want to add anything cap wise that includes a cap hit next year. I am a little surprised in Schvenikov clearing. His cap is not bad and even though he has arbi rights next year, he’s not exactly producing at a point to demand anything. Young with top 6 scouting report talent. Surprised no one took a chance.
  2. Today looks like but I’ll believe it when I see it
  3. Italian cheesy stuffed peppers with potato replacing rice for Passover so let’s hope it brings luck
  4. Well they don’t keep it in their for 2 minutes considering how crappy they are from the faceoff circle
  5. I understand what you’re saying but I just don’t agree that it’s just a veteran thing. It can be but forget Gauthier for a while or the like of him. It’s not even just that he’s clueless. He just seems to have varying rules. Ziby is the perfect example. The first 20+ games saying he was hot garbage is putting it nicely. I’m not even talking about benching. But just different looks. That’s literally the coaches job. If he sees something not working, it’s his job to try and figure out a different combo that might. Especially on a team with highly rated young guys where the pp might actually win you some games and or get them going too. I just find it extremely strange to go the first 25 or so games rolling out the exact same putrid pp/ strategy/etc with no success then read a quote from the other day when asked why ALF and Kakko play so little and be told “ it’s all about winning games now.” So first 25 or so games you’re willing to lose games rolling out the same “veterans” with no success just to get them going over a month and a half period then spend these games giving your future no ice time because the result sets precedent over development.......shouldn’t that have meant the first 25 games would have seen guys like Ziby off the pp1 then at any point? Or Mreider during his Mia periods off it?
  6. Well, as I said earlier, i don't think Quinn really feels like he runs the ship when it comes to certain things. Sure changing lines is his thing but taking away ice time for the "big names" on our team isn't. Ziby was horrid for a large portion of the year and it took like the 20+ game mark into the season to bench him for half a period i think. Kreider can come and go as he pleases it seems and we all know Panarin doesn't follow any system or style. It's reflected in the PP too. There is just a group of players in my mind where Quinn feels a bit more, intimidated for lack of a better word, with. I can't really imagine the coaching staff goes into games saying PP1 is going to play all power plays all the time without breaks.
  7. All seriousness since the Wild are one of the few teams I haven't watch too much this year since the beginning to see Krill, are Suter and Spurgeon one of the best shut down D pair in the league though?
  8. The pp is just a small microcosm of how shitty the coaching has been. Different rules for different folks. No actual in game adjustments or management, and let the bigger names let you know when they need a change.
  9. Makes sense.... I mean one person can vote 175 times anonymously for the all star game but let’s take a stand here lol
  10. Number 2 has me very intrigued. Obviously there will be a ton of unknown in terms of drafting so I’d definitely be more cautious about this upcoming draft. I think you might be able to sneak a good pick of players higher in the first round or even later just because of all these unknowns. I think we will look back 5 years or so from now and say “I can’t believe team x got this guy so late....” before looking back and realizing why.
  11. Well, that’s your opinion of course. I think part of it is true right now. He’s a two time Jack adams winner, cup winner, most wins in the history for American born coaches and has overachieved with the roster several times even in Columbus. Yet, he’s not under contract next year and there is very little news about extending him. Fine. Ignore the first benching. Then we can talk about the second benching, in a game where Laine had a goal and an assist. March 11th. That was the last time Laine scored a goal. 10 games without one now. I’m not saying Laine isn’t a big part of these problems. He’s the biggest problem. But I think in this case with Torts right now, there is so,e truth to the Torts aspect going on..

    MAN RULES!!!

    Isn’t that a band?
  13. Well anything is possible of course. But it was like his 3rd or 4th game on the team, he didn’t specifically ask to be there, and Torts is the older wiser guy. Some kid gloves probably would go a longer way for a 22 year old kid. I’m sure Laine was 100% wrong. Think he mouthed off. Douche move but still a kid though that just went through a tough time. Not about being immune. Its just about reading a moment. He had come off a 2 goal and 1 goal game after his 3rd game as a BJ. Might have actually started to come into his own. Then he had a lapse. Meh. Is that really the time to flex muscle? 3 goals in first 4 games as a BJ. Benched. 4 goals the next 25. Atta boy Tortsy!
  14. Yeah, but before those 3 years the following g players are going to get bumps. Buch (soonest but might not stay), Kakko, ALF, Chytil, Lindgren, Fox, Miller, Sheshty. That’s my point about pinching pennies. Sure they can play extreme hardball but you’re playing with fire if you don’t give any good will at all and until the 24/25 season, you are married to some hefty contracts. Eichels 10m is even longer. Now the given is if you trade for Eichel, you are giving up some players mentioned above. But let’s just say Fox goes off even more than now. Great problem to have. However, I’d rather have some money to play with to play with if he were offer sheeted or need some good will. Can’t hope for a Tampa Hail Mary injury to save us cap wise. Just stay the course.
