I'm just not a fan of benching in game like that. I understand when there is a point. I. E. Players taking stupid penalties or repeated mistakes, etc. The effort is there though with Mika. Demote him to another like then but an emotionally broken player isn't going to get better with a benching. He clearly knows what's up. You're almost better off healthy scratching him rather than screwing up an entire game line combos by sitting him like that.

Woah. I didn’t know they canceled the rest of the game after his benching lol I was legit asking, did he look any different afterwards? I didn’t physically see the 3rd period and I figured it’s also a good way to spark future conversation.

In essence though, the only time it would really be important is when exactly you do need it so I guess unofficially it still helps every team that isn’t actually cash strapped in the first place.

Just no. He’s fine as an A. If he were captain material, he’d already be captain. His been on the team for a decade and they haven’t had a captain since McD I think right? Takes too many stretches off where his only contribution is a dumb penalty. Pass.

So Phil sort of explained this to me the other day but I still need clarification. So his cap hit stays unless they exceed the cap, in which then it goes into LTIR so that thry can still function under the cap limits technically?

Just looking at that for the first time I think it's his right hamstring he tore.

Silver lining is two fold. 1. We can just depend on our goalie to win for us (whether Quinnless takes this as we take it ot them balls to the walls or we we just attack without trying to win 1-0) 2. Get to see just how much Georgiev is as an NHL goalie wither for us, or for another team via trade or whatever. Personally I believe in him hardcore and everyone else should as well.

It makes no sense now, goal scored or not. Team is a bit short handed. Ziby is struggling mightily but he’s not taking bad penalties or anything. Demote him to a diff line or whatever but to just bench him doesn’t really make sense. I have no problem swapping Chytil and him.
