I’m confused though why this is happening now of all times? Didn’t Miller play in the USHL for the last two years in different states? Why did the mom wait for him to be drafted ? She said the bullying continued two years after but never really provided proof or seemed to say much specifically unless I’m missing that part ? The whole thing seems kind of weird. What happened was horrible. No one condones it but to me this sure does feel more like cancelling rather than anything else.

And we can easily make the connection that the 10 or so teams that took him off their board is more so because they didn’t want to deal with a PR problem rather than an idea that they felt he wasn’t remorseful. Who knows. Regardless one team in the 4th round felt the kid had moved past what happened when he was younger. Also the mother never sent the letter until after he was drafted and in the Athletic article it says Miller was ordered to stay away from Isaiah which could explain why no letter was sent. If he legit was ordered like stay away order, sending him specifically something violates that. It mentions his rollerblading past his house but that’s not remotely the same as actually sending something directly to the house. Not trying to make any excuses for the kid but I just don’t think his potential livelihood should be taken away because of this. If we give mature professional athletes who are already millionaires second chances for crimes, why are we not to so,some that did things as a juvenile and paid his dues?

I think Lemieux would be fine if you saw a real pro 4th line center paired with him. He’s a piece of a 4th line as long as it’s an ENTIRE identifiable 4th line instead of just guys not good enough or too inexperienced for more.

John Vanbiesbrouck is the assistant executive director of hockey operations for USA hockey and he used racial slurs in his past......not condoning one bit what this kid did from the ages of 14-17 or whatever the ages were but this won’t help him become a better person. Hell do we even though if this kid (and that’s what he is, a kid) was instructed not to approach the victim by those close to him for fear of admitting to something he could be on the hook for in a civil case? I just don’t agree with the “fuck him” approach at his age but the lack of accountability many many times for adults that do some horrible things in years of their lives where there isn’t even remotely an excuse of youth.

World gym hockey I played indoor soccer at. That was a bit newer and there late 90s I guess. That was full sized. There was one in setauket much further north called Power Play. It was on Comsewogue rd. Now it’s a gym called revolution. There was a place I think called miller place hockey. Had two rinks stalked back to back just like Plaza and it was roller and dek. It was on 25a and I think the whole area now is a Stop n Shop lol. There later was a place in the same area across the street that had indoor tennis but also was used for hockey. I had to stop playing around 93 and strictly played ice after that time.

Man I’m super north shore. Belle Terre area (within Port Jeff village as north as u can go before hitting the ferry to CT). Lots of deer, turkey, property, and all that stuff out here without being eastern LI and in no mans land. I work in Nassau and my wife works in Easterm Suffolk so we are in the middle between each other although her drive is easier but I make less appearances for work. We too neglected s lot of the back lawn because we are gutting it all this coming spring and doing a 2 tier Trex deck, hot tub, gazebo, full landscaping and all that good stuff plus leveling it so really no need to go nuts with it right now outside of mowing so ticks don’t thrive.

To be honest, landscapers are never going to be as good as doing it yourself in terms of lawn and for one reason mostly. Guy down the block uses your same guy. He does his lawn first. Problem is, guy down the block has a shitty lawn full of clover, crabgrass, moss, whatever the eff. Landscaper uses same equipment on every lawn understandably. So he cuts fresh weeds and brings them to your place right after circulating it to you. What do you expect? If you decide on one step to do something yourself vs pro do it choose to mow yourself and have someone else do chemicals and seeding. You’ll get a better lawn every time. Personally I do it all myself but I’m fairly particular.

Lawns are super frustrating when you are doing it wrong but so so addicting once you get it right.
