  1. I would have thought the re-up of Marleau to SJ would have made Thornton take one more kick of the can and if its not working out there, trade to Toronto at deadline if possible but who knows. Toronto would rather get him for nothing I guess.
  2. Especially when I only plan on spending half a year there then bounce
  3. No one signing a 2m cap hit deal is screwing up any cap or team. Come on now.
  4. And with that call Buffalo elevated themselves to the second worst team in Canada
  5. That’s basically it. It is what it is. Guess unless we get 700k players we are looking at rotating 4th liner retreads/unwanted for a while
  6. I don’t see how that’s a valid question when he accepted 3 years. Also, at 2m, he’s very tradeable if there was any cap problem in the future. Really no matter what way you slice it, they kind of messed this one up. Not the end of the world though but still.
  7. Would have been good. Make a rival weaker by implanting a void. Espionage like shit right there.
  8. I just find it very weird Vegas is doing. They have a very good thing going on there and all of a sudden lately they’ve been trying to go for the big name. Weird.
  9. 3 years is a pretty important year for us technically. Ziby and Buch are both ufa assuming we re-upped buch on a one year deal after the 21/22 season. Kakko, Fox are rfas, it’s the year before ALF goes rfa and Chytil should be either up for a new contract or close to it. Still though, 2m wasn’t going to be the difference because you always need a bottom 6 and some vets sprinkled in. Likely 3 years from now this covid crap is done and cap is back to getting small bumps up and if not, the landscape has changed cover 3 seasons where future top salaries aren’t as high as now
  10. Quiet nice. I saw it on puckpedia a couple of days ago and nothing was really announced. Neither here nor there but wish we had inked Wallmark
  11. I’m assuming they just think warm body and the devil you know kind of stuff. I don’t get it specifically when you look at some of the other guys signing for barely 100-200k more that are just better hockey players.
  12. What I bet screws it up is they probably all have these bonuses on “yearly situational” for lack of a better term. Like first year finish 3rd or higher in Calder voting....but second year that gets replaced with someone else since u obviously can’t win Calder second year...
  13. Di Giuseppe is already signed for next year. 700k
  14. My worry though is when they say big picture, i dont like how they use Tampa as an example. If it takes us 10 years to be Tampa........no thanks.
  15. was he wearing the University of Michigan jersey in these videos?
  16. it also looks worse now because of the flat cap. I still think the NHL/owners should have factored in one existing contract to be either not on the books or half on the books. It's a bit unfair all these teams are basically screwed because of covid's effect on sports. Obviously for us it would be Panarin's contract we keep off the books but still. Each team should have gotten some wiggle room because of good faith signings that now are looking like anchors.
