  1. 50 points in his second year in the league without Panarin. The lack of a trade has little to do with what GMs think of him and more to do with Gorton actually tipping his hand a bit, him being RFA a year before UFA so no big contract, and the leagues position on having tight wallets. It’s not on their opinion of Strome, unless someone has links to say otherwise. Why trade for him when there is a chance they can get him for nothing if he was my qualified which they did at the last second. Also now, why trade when they can wait to see the outcome first. Gorton has been good, but he screwed this one up a bit.
  2. 3. We got swept. My two was a typo. The play for a contract is nonsense, come on now. He put up 59 points in 70 games. His contract was not being judged on a few “playoff games” after months of a layoff. Who played well in those 3 games? Did three quarters of the team even dress? Should we trash all of them too?
  3. We literally played 2 “playoff games” and no one performed months after a break. I don’t think you can judge anyone on the team for that short of a time frame
  4. I don?t mind Strome. He performed here and technically in Long Island too previously. Does he take bad penalties? Sure but if he?s nearly a ppg player he gets a pass. Panarin is a beast but Strome gets plenty of points for who he is too. He?s a former first rounder for a reason. Fast didn?t become a ppg player playing with Panarin. We keep dismissing him as if he?s just some AHLer that is riding bread mans junk which is just not true.
  5. Who would have though a 2 time stanley cup winner and Lias Andersson would both be traded for 2nd rounders lol Dont know much about the NFL dude they got along with it but his nickname is Chucky :)
  6. Really think it was a no brainer. They can walk away if he goes to arbitration and its over 4.5m so why the hell not?
  7. But the thing is, it's a lot easier to get a D that'll slot anywhere from 3-6 because of his all around game than it is a potential elite diamond in the rough so to speak. My philosophy with a late 1st/esrly 2nd is that if there is someone still on the board that has a borderline elite skill set, I swing for the fences and hope you knock one out. You can get a 3!4 D elsewhere in the draft/league. Just think it's a missed opportunity. Harder to find a potential top 6 forward.
  8. The problem is Zary and LaPierre we’re both still out there. Nothing wrong with a bruising D, but there still were two pretty high end F on the board.
  9. I mean usually you don’t ask generational talents to change positions but he does play like a center already and he did seem a bit open to it
  10. So there?s this. Vally asked ALF if he would be open to playing center. Yes, I get he would say anything but still. He said he played some before and he did seem a bit more open than I would have thought. A lot of reports are he plays a lot more in the center of the ice than outside like many other wingers.
  11. Classy move by the Sharks signing that last pick since mom was deaf. Pretty cool.
  12. I bet in his day he walked uphill to school both ways in the snow
  13. I mean we can just say in terms of wins and save %, Henrik is tied for 14th for most playoff wins in NHL history. He’s also tied for 8th in NHL history save % with 50+ nhl playoff games (just throwing out a number that’s a plateau). If you go 100 nhl playoff games, he jumps to 2nd all time save % behind Hasek. I still maintain Leetch is the best, but Henrik was pretty damn special on teams where he was asked to carry his team most games. Rangers in Henrik's time rarely rolled teams. Even when they won, they did so based largely on who played goal.
  14. We couldn’t have had LaFreniere and LaPierre anyway on the same team. Sam couldn’t deal.
  15. Yeah but just seems a bit mind boggling when there were still two F on the boards that were rated much higher in Zary and LaPierre. I get the injury scare with one, but the other? Oh well. They probably know what they are doing lol
  16. Lol he would have been there at 22. Man Zary would have been my pick and a center
  17. Zary? He was rated much higher and still on the board. Plus a center
  18. He just seems overpumped today. Used to him on TSN but still. Rare form today
  19. If LaPierre falls to us....hard to pass up, injury concerns and all.
