  1. Feel like there should be some special meal for this....something I’d love....but in reality I’ll be forcing the fianc? to watch with me so I guess it’s whatever she wants lol
  2. Caps and Avs are the two best fits, Caps being a bit better just by distance. I think it does matter a bit to Hank with his younger children being in the NY schools.
  3. Congrats! How long before the move to the burbs? :p jk I’m a month behind ya get married in November.
  4. The thing about Strome is what makes hi miso attractive is his ability to mesh on the line and not have it cost us an arm and a leg. If he starts looking at 7m for multiple years then yeah, it might be time to walk away just because that money is as good as spentvalrewsy on re-upping others. It’s so important we get or keep a fairly decent diamond in the rough type at around 5m, not 7m.
  5. There’s only 4 teams I think I wouldn’t buy. Isles, Pitt, NJ, Philly. If he went to the Caps I’d still probably be interested.
  6. So here’s a question...anyone thinking of buying a Lundqvist jersey for whatever team he ends up with? Avs or Chicago would be super sweet ones to get with his name on the back. Same for Vegas. Thoughts?
  7. ADA would literally shred us for years. I honestly believe that, while Konecny will shrivel in important games like he did all postseason.
  8. Unless they think they could get a cost effective contract for the next 3-4 years, say like a Cirelli via trade then retain at 4.5m x 3-4. Othrwise yeah, bring back Strome for that money and revisit next year.
  9. Only if the arbitration is over 4.5m. If it's lower they have to accept. I'm not sure that's a problem though. Under 4.5m for a guy putting up 60+ points? Umm sure. I'll take that and revisit this next year no?
  10. Years. Assuming kakko and ALF are real deals. Without them we probably only speed it up by overpaying free agency.
  11. Think it's official. He retired. At least according to nhl radio now. Link:
  12. I’m not really saying they were one of the best, but the team turned quite a corner at one point during the season, and it equaled 37 wins The day we stopped while we were trending up. They had a pretty bad October and less bad but still not great December. They had a good period from like the very end of January until the end of February where they were something like 12-5 or so until it started to catch up to them with a ton of games being played. Even then they still ended up in very good position to get around 43-45 or so wins if they played their last 12 games. I don’t think looking at results is revisionist. It’s what we accomplished. Doesn’t mean we were cup contenders, but we certainly are pretty close to being a team that should expect to be in the playoffs. I know we are two seasons removed from being basement dwellers but this roster is good, albeit top heavy like G1 said. That’s not much different than some other playoff teams in our division like the Caps and Penguins and they are getting long in the tooth. The top heavy problem is a problem because we rely on them for EVERYTHING. Get a real 4th line that can be trusted even just for minutes and to pk and you see a fresher top heavy team that will turn some of those losses into ot games to give us a good 7-8 more points than we had. Think we had around the lowest ot points in 19/20. You correct that and we easily get playoffs in my opinion.
  13. Yeah, the Lightning took so long more so for shooting themselves in the foot a few times along the way.
  14. I mean they had 37 wins during the regular season. Only 9 teams had more and Dallas wasn’t even one of them. Im not necessarily saying we are near elite, But calling this team weak just isn’t true in my opinion. Even if everything you say is true, they still had 37 wins and they weren’t fluke wins. They just lacked consistency and discipline, something every growing team does. The talent is there though and the results already are on the way.
  15. I mean of course he’s not wrong, but I don’t think it’s fair to use the Lightning as an example. We aren’t 12 years away and teams ebb and flow all the time these days. The Islanders were a series away from the finals, Vegas was in the finals year one. I get it, he’s not going to say we are a piece or two away because that would be very idiotic and add unnecessary pressure. Still though, we are pretty close to competing. We were pretty freaking awesome before January or so on until covid hit.
  16. Trade with next year's 1st to Tampa for Cirelli
  17. Isn’t AA a douche when it comes to this? He already held out once and I’d be very weary of a guy that isn’t being qualified at such a young age.
