  1. Go bold or go home. Bold would be though that he is a finalist for the Norris lol
  2. Only that they have 3 d out of contract And not a ton of space. Greene, Pulock, and Toews. I could easily see them taking Staal to replace Greene for cheaper and he probably would be fine in their slow teams down to mucK system.
  3. I’m gonna go out on a limb here and say Staal gets bought out by the Wings, and comes to the island for league minimum lol
  4. 2 easy penalties ignored and an icing on a non icing lol . Some guys want to end the bubble ASAP lol
  5. I’m all for putting the whistle away but He’d,am just tripped up Radulov on a breakaway lol
  6. Btw there are a few concerns with tests like these. I had this discussion the other day and apparently there are some concerns that years down the road if you found out a predisposition to disease x and didn’t disclose it to your insurance provider, thry could try to use that to reject coverage. Also I do believe there is some precedence for using sharing your results if you’ve committed a crime to identify you since the fine print in some of these say you agree to share your results.
  7. Honestly, to me, it seems buying out Staal saves them from HAVING to buy out Hank. Doesn't mean they won't. Just means there's a chance they won't.
  8. It’s definitely not easy. This is all they know. I do not agree that’s it’s just business. It’s “ just business” when a player is 28-35 or so and things aren’t working out. It supersedes that aspect when a player makes multiple cup runs, declined to be moved when the tear down happened, and now at 39 decides that’s a good fit when he knows it’s just not. It’s a bit different
  9. If that literally is true and only one team in the entire NHL offer him a contract, a bottom dwelling rival of the franchise he spent 15 or so years with, what should that tell Henrik the man himself?
  10. But in the end, even for that player. When he’s sitting 5 years down the road looking at his legacy. You think he will look back fondly of himself in a Devils sweater? Think Brodeur doesn’t sort of regret a bit having those 5 minutes in a Blues Jersey? I could see going to a contender. I can’t see the point of going to a bottom dwelling rival but then again, it’s his career and this is all these guys know. Still though, these players still do know what going to certain clubs mean compared to others.
  11. That’s the thing. It’s not just continuing. It’s with them, and as a team not remotely close to competing. I do get it. He wants to play (if this is true). However, there is a way to do it without feeling like it’s smacking the fan base across the face on the way out I guess. If it’s the Islanders, Devils, maybe Flyers too.......that’s kind of a bit different. That’s going to be a Bit of a problem.
  12. I’m aware. We gave him the contract. We all know that stuff. Doesn’t mean no one can have an opinion about it. We can agree to disagree about what seems like his second best scenario if he wants to win a championship.
  13. Im just giving my opinion dude. You don’t have to agree with it. There obviously is some reading between the lines here on my part because for a little under 3 seasons they have waited in hopes of him changing his stance. They offered to move him when they sent out that letter. He declined. They still played him last year. They’ve likely approached him several others times after the 17/18 season ended and he likely still said no. If he gets bought out now it’s because he is refusing to a trade or literally there are no offers. I get it. He can still play. But if he has agreed to a move after Gorton said they 100% will not go into next offseason with 3 goalies and he isn’t being traded, it’s because there aren’t many substantial offers. Possibly because they could just sign him for cheaper than trading but at this point I bet the Rangers would literally pay half his hit and give him for nothing. Going to a bottom dweller isn’t trying to win. It’s trying to just prolong the inevitable, the end of a hof career.
