  1. The holdup might be that Hornqvist hasn?t waived his no trade yet since the Pens are unable to reach him.
  2. All will depend on who their second line center is this next season and a full season of Shesty.
  3. There is a YouTube user named serg 72 that always broadcasts a lot of old NHL games. I don’t believe he has posted the game you are looking for exactly but he posts many classic Rangers games. Maybe contact him and see if you can help find that game for you. Good luck https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC6mzhwI59v61cE7YNi9YKtQ
  4. Yeah yeah yeah, I get that. However we are talking about buying out Henrik. Staal barely ends up as a pimple on the King’s ass in Comparison yet we discuss how he can’t be here for one more year.
  5. Barzal really impressed me this postseason. He battled and was a step faster than a lot of players out there. Hogs the puck way too much but with the options he has, sometimes I get it. Here he would be pretty damn special imo. We also would significantly lessen the Isles lineup. A future pair of Ziby and Barzal solves so much and would make pretty good sense since we have or will have ALF, Kakko, Fox, Chytil all on lower contracts for a bit. Chytil less since it?s going into his last year but unless he suddenly becomes a beast he won?t get a huge increase and even if he does, he?s still in rfa with no leverage. Let Strome walk with ADA probably unless ADA takes a very friendly ?I just really wanna be part of this? type deal. He won?t, but still. We don?t need tons tied up in D anyway
  6. The Isles are pretty screwed cap next season. They have a lot of holes to fill. 9m to spend and need to reup 3 d, backup goalie, 1st and 4th line centers. Russian goalie they, have takes the goalie spot even if they filled every other position with league minimum you are talking like only 4-6m before reupping barzal Just saying. Not like it's going to make us enemies more than now, or change any future trades between the two clubs. Worst case if we have to worry about them one day returning the favor and in the meantime we handcuff them salary wise or get a very good 1/1a young center that'll look super nice next to Alf or Panarin.
  7. It’s not about how bad either is. It’s about how they are paid and being third pairings or winger ffs. They could move on from both and not miss a beat.
  8. The part I never understand in all of this is how Staal never gets brought up and Smith skates as well. I mean if u buy out Staal and trade Georgiev forcing a team to take Smith along as well, u save the embarrassment of ending Henrik time here and get the same cap relief. I get it. Smith is hard to trade, but not impossible going into his last year of a contract.
  9. Right. That's why i say he would agree to one year possibly but not multiple years. Corrected typos
  10. Not disagreeing at all. Regardless, I don’t see Strome trying to help us out one year away from ufa anyway.
  11. And he would still be cheaper by 2m to the likes of Hayes, RyJo, Benn, Krejci, et al. If only our worst contract was 5m lol
  12. Yeah but I think you’re missing my point. I understand why a gm would balk at a long term deal. I also think Strome would balk at one too not at market price. Stroke himself would prefer repeating 19/20 season and roll right into ufa. If he signs anything team friendly, it’s for one year.
  13. He’s actually not the highest paid player coming off one good season. And people constantly forget his prior 50 point season as a 21 year old. And you guys are missing the point. This isn’t what other GMs are willing to do. No one knows that right now. He can’t test the waters yet. The point is, why does he want to sell himself short when he can do a one year deal and wait until he gets leverage more than arb rights. If he goes to arbitration he’s getting 5m on a one year deal at least. Then he goes into his ufa as a 5m free agent. Even if he ends up with a lesser year, say around 55 points for a full season, he’s still a 5m player. He’s grossly underpaid at 3m. If he decided on a 3 year deal at 5m then we should all go out and buy him something nice lol because then he becomes one of the best bargains in the league as a 65-75 point 2nd line center.
  14. But he hasn’t. Of course that’s an issue for anyone, but he’s previously a 50 point player and a talented former first round pick. I’m sure the man himself is going to bet on his production being a case of coming into his own rather than some stroke of luck.
  15. Why is Strome taking 5m for 3 years when he will be a ufa after next season? He has arb rights and was on pace for about 70 points. If they aren’t going to pay him what his worth is, I don’t see him giving up ufa years. In the top 50 in points this season, he is the 4th lowest paid. Only Barzal, Pettersson, and Svechnikov make less in the top 50.
  16. Bears fan here. I watched the game with my father in law who is a big Giants fan. I thought thry had a ton of fight in them for a fairly thin roster. Jones is going to be good as long as they stick with the program. Sucks about Barkley
  17. Honestly, I oils to do that either. That late first could be a very good player for our future. If we were one piece away from a cup then maybe but Henrik at worst is gone after this year. No reason to trade a late 1st just to speed that up. At worst we lose Strome because of cap. I’m okay with that and revisit this next offseason if we still aren’t happy with a 2nd center.
  18. Lightning sure look gassed. I’m very surprised they started the finals so quickly. I know, bubble and all that, but an extra day or two off would have been very nice and customary. It’s not like the Lightning went to 7 last round.
  19. He’s the least important person of their bottom six and or grit line. Pass unless the other two of our hopefully newly formed grit line are already in place and superior.
  20. The only thing that’ll extend the series in my opinion is Tampa’s health. Even though they fairly dominated in every category except scoreboard in the last round, they wore down a bit and the Isles play heavy. I think they win but it’ll be a similar series because of how banged up they are.
