So what’s your reasoning that makes you believe they won’t?

Nice praise by a soon to be former teammate? -
Couple of things. I’d be careful with the “holds zero weight” ideology since I suppose it’s just as much hyperbole to say We are in a group regularly talking hockey well into August after months of no games. I’m sure I’m not the only one that has NHL packages, does fantasy hockey, pays attention and watches the rest of the league regularly, etc. The second part is just that while Kreider was on page for around 55-60 points, he’s twice put up 50 points. It’s not as if his normal production is 30 and he’s on some giant bump. Kreider while streaky is pretty reliable to put up around the same amount of production. Agreed that it really comes down to who yoU prefer better but trading Kreider for RJ to me is lateral. By preferred position it makes sense but if all things considered equal, I’ll go for the guy that’s already produced on this team and regularly pots 25+ goals. I’d honestly rather keep Strome or go for a Cirelli or Kerfoot if we went another direction.
-
I actually don’t agree. His curve is steady. Do I think he’s going to pot 40 soon? No. Do I think he can remain where he is for the next X seasons? Yes. Also, I love that he was ready to come back before covid hit. At some point, it’s good to just accept a flaw, loyalty, leadership, and just understand that certain guys are worth a bit more based on character and everything that another guy. Kreider fits that to a tee. I feel better with him in our lineup than I do RyJo or anyobrcother down trending loser. Just my opinion.

[brooks] Rangers to Add "Muscle and Grit" for Next Season
Keirik replied to Phil's topic in New York Rangers
Where do you come up with this??????? -
Gotcha. Realistically u assume the Isles don't blow it although I'd be happy if they did lol
-
I know it's their 1, I mean do we know what position in the first round it Is yet? Lol,
-
So Carolina lost. What pick do we get now?

well same result at least. One is a hard working Albertan thatll produce a good 20 nhl points and the other is an aloof Albertan that will accidentally produce you 20 nhl points lol -
Have a tremendous tremendous birthday ! Lol

I’d assume a large portion of season ticket holders might be pissed if suddenly they are being asked to take off work for a 12pm Tuesday playoff game.

So praise now is based on not doing anything negative? Ugh. It’s the adult equivalent of praising a kid for filling out the scan-tron correctly while bombing the test. -
8m cap hit until 2025. Money wise I guess the extra 1.5m cap hit over Kreider isn’t terrible but man, if RJ regresses even more....do we want a reclamation project at 8m just because of his position?
-
Lol
-
Why would we want that? We have prospects. We have the 1st overall that is head and shoulders above the pack. What is it that makes it so difficult for you to want the 1st overall pick? Lol
-
more than likely they would ask for that anways lol

confirmed: Alexis Lafreniere is a New York Ranger!
Keirik replied to Phil's topic in New York Rangers
LaFreniere > Hughes just by size alone. While today’s NHL is more small guy friendly, it’s safer if the guy actually has size associated with him too. I actually would have preferred Kakko over Hughes so I thought we were in such a great spot drafting 2. This year, Laf is above and beyond the best pick. -

I’d feel about the same if I had eaten 3 day old gas station sushi -
[brooks] Rangers to Add "Muscle and Grit" for Next Season
Keirik replied to Phil's topic in New York Rangers
I’m still not understanding why we are having this conversation? Quinn has done a great job. We already had 5 more wins in 69 games than we did in 82 the year before and were trending up at a pretty good clip. We nee Laviolette because he won nearly 15 years ago? He’s a good coach. Don’t get me wrong. You don’t treat coaching staffs like you do you’re third like players by upgrading just because there is a more successful person available. If you do that you are constantly spinning wheels. Each coach brings in a philosophy, a style, different tactics, and an organizational change that resets a lot. We don’t need a reset when we are already trending up. We need to build on what we have, not tear the head off because of the covid cup setback. -
I wonder if there was a way to get a second late first or do our later first, next years first, and Lunkvist for Sergachev and Cirelli together since they can’t afford them without getting a main piece. Obviously it means walking away from Strome and ADA but I’m okay with that.
-
While I can’t say I agree, I understand the sentiment. Stephan is just too slow for a second line that would include anyone on our team. Strome would make more sense at a 1-2 year deal

What Are You Still Salty About, All These Years Later ? Sports Edition
Keirik replied to Phil's topic in The Bar Room
2004 blowing a 3 games to none lead to the Red Sox. Chicago Bears losing to the Colts in the Super Bowl. Really? Is 1985 the only year I ever get to see Football success? Manchester City winning 3-2 on a last minute goal to win the league when United was all set to win yet again. 2014...........yeah. -
