Smits, who joined the show in season five as the gangster-turned-"companionator," will be back for all 13 episodes of season 6, as reported by TV Line.

On season 5, Smits' character wooed and won over Gemma (Katey Sagal), while also helping Jax (Charlie Hunnam) and the California motorcycle club sort out some troubles with their enemies.

This is the second day in a row of casting news for Sons of Anarchy. On Wednesday, THR confirmed that Donal Logue will return to his role as former U.S. Marshal Lee Toric, whose sister was killed in prison by the character Sutter plays on Sons.

BIG TROUBLE | With Donal Logue back for at least seven episodes, Sutter says that former U.S. Marshall Lee Toric will prove to be a profoundly painful thorn in SAMCRO?s side. ?We sort of fluctuate, where one season the adversary will be in the outlaw world and other seasons it?ll be someone from the law enforcement world ? and the interesting thing about Donal?s character is he sort of falls in the middle,? Sutter explains. SoA_513_Cette_0123?He?s law enforcement, but he?s ex-law enforcement.? As such, ?He?s probably the most dangerous adversary they?ve ever had in terms of his access to law enforcement information, yet he doesn?t necessarily have to follow all those rules.?

ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT | With Tara behind bars for her role in Otto?s murder of a prison nurse (aka Toric?s sister) ? and just as she was set to leave town with the kids for a normal life! ? the Tellers? nascent union shall be tested. ?You saw the beginning of the shift in that relationship at the end of last season, when Tara broke that news to Jax about wanting to get out with the boys,? Sutter notes. ?[Tara's imprisonment] obviously has a big impact this season as far as where they are at emotionally. Can it be fixed? Does it bring them closer together? Or does it separate them more??

CHANGES AT CHURCH | When the show returns, ?There will be a new VP? in place, given Bobby?s resignation at the close of Season 5. ?And there will be a new sergeant-at-arms.? Sutter, however, wasn?t about to name names.

NEW FACES | In addition to Logue?s return and Jimmy Smits being promoted to a series regular (as Nero), Season 6 will add two new characters still to be cast. One Sutter describes as ?an old-school shot-caller that?s out of Stockton,? while the other is a major female character who is ?in sort of the escort world.?

Kinda shocking with the news of a new Sgt. at Arms considering who held that position at last years' finale (Chibbs), but my money is on Chibbs stepping up to VP and leaving the SAA patch to someone like Tig, who can re-take his former position.

Sons of Anarchy is pulling Kim Dickens back into the escort biz.

The TV vet ? who played head whore Joanie Stubbs on HBO?s Deadwood ? is joining the FX drama?s upcoming sixth season as seductive and maternal madame Colette Jane, TVLine has learned exclusively.

According to sources, her character?s ambition will intersect with professional companionators Jax (Charlie Hunnam) and Nero (Jimmy Smits).

In the latest edition of WTF Sutter, the Sons creator give his audience a couple of hints on a brand new character he's reportedly signed on to play a crucial role.

The first hint is that a male actor will fill the future part. Sutter then goes on to state his second hint, which is that the character will indeed be a "tough guy." To top it off, he stated that someone that's a TV series regular on another program would embody the respective role.

Depending on how the season unfolds, Sutter said he might bring the actor on for more than one episode. The tattooed writer stated that the reason he couldn't reveal the newly signed on actor's identity is because he has given him the opportunity to share the news via the proper industry avenues.

Season premiere is also 90 minutes, and Sutter said there are likely to be "several" 90-minute episodes.

I liked the 90 min episodes. glad to see more

Also, for some reason, the only person i can think of right now that fits that description is Timothy Olyphant. Goggins was already on the show. I dont see why they wouldnt use someone from another FX show. Unless they get someone from TWD or Breaking Bad.

The presentation opened with new footage of season six. It showed that Jax (Hunnam) is still doing plenty of contemplative writing. Also, that both Clay (Perlman) and Tara (Siff) are wearing orange prison jumpsuits. And it looks like Chibs (Flanagan) will be Jax's new vp. The footage looks great, promising plenty of drama and violence to come this season.

Early on in the panel, Sutter was asked about his plans -- which he has mentioned several times -- to end the show in seven seasons.

"I think we've really created these characters and narratives that have been very organic to this world, and I feel like we're running toward the finish," he said, adding that he wants to find an endgame before he overstays his welcome.

How would he end the seventh season? "Big pool of blood," he told the crowd.

Sutter also revealed that the sixth season will pick up just a few days after the events of season five ended.

Looks like I was dead on with this prediction from the end of last season where I said Chibs would go to VP, and Tig would resume his former role as Sergeant at Arms with Bobby cutting his patch off.

http://blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2013/07/comic-con-2013-sons-of-anarchy-teasers-debut-charlie-hunnam-talks-jax.html

Here's a breakdown of the video, which doesn't seem to be online anywhere:

First up is a bit of a trailer for the new season, which includes a lot of footage. It's narrated by Jax (Charlie Hunnam), the way his father's voice narrated the early seasons of the show He's seen in his son's room, writing. Perhaps he's putting together a memoir of his own?

We get a quick glimpse at Tara's (Maggie Siff) life in jail, and the reveal that Chibs (Tommy Flanagan) has taken over the role of Vice President, after Bobby (Mark Boone Junior) stepped down in season 5. There's also clips of the club together, seemingly stronger than they were left off last season. Based on the teaser promo that was released, that cannot be the case.

After that, another teaser is screened, featuring very quick shots of all kinds of mayhem that will be featured during the season. Some of the violence included Chibs attacking Juice (Theo James), Tara fighting someone in prison, and a brawl between Clay and Jax, both in their cuts. That could mean viewers will see Clay out of jail and back with the club at some point during the season. There's also a shot of Otto (Kurt Sutter) attacking yet another person, Tig (Kim Coates) trying to drown someone in what looks like a bathtub filled with urine and lots of Donal Logue's character.

As The Hollywood Reporter exclusively reported, Peter Weller will appear in season six of Sons of Anarchy.

Weller will play Charles Barosky, a crooked ex-cop who has taken advantage of the city's failing infrastructure to become boss of the Stockton, Calif., port. He crosses paths with SAMCRO -- and it looks like he'll bring trouble with him.

--

Weller has direct tie to SOA off camera, as he was a director for multiple episodes over the fourth and fifth seasons, I believe.

Totally hoping for a Robocop reference somewhere, like the Peggy Bundy red head reference.

http://xfinity.comcast.net/blogs/tv/2013/08/02/sons-of-anarchy-season-6-premiere-may-shock-audiences/

?Sons of Anarchy? has never shied away from controversy, and the Season 6 premiere episode, which airs September 10th on FX, is no exception. We don?t want to be a spoiler sport, but let?s just say the episode loosely mirrors a very violent, very tragic, real-life event.

?As much as I wouldn?t do something because it was controversial, I?m also not going to not do something because it?s controversial,? creator/executive producer Kurt Sutter told reporters Friday during FX?s presentation at the Television Critics Association summer press tour in Los Angeles. As for the inauspicious timing, Sutter says he got the idea to do the story three years ago and was in no way influenced by current events.

Violence has always been a trademark of ?SOA? and the sixth season continues that proud tradition. ?There?s a lot of blood and guts in my show,? said Sutter. ?But I feel like I?m not lying to myself when I say: Nothing is done gratuitously. The events that happen in the premiere are really the catalyst for the third act of this morality play we?re doing.? He adds a friendly warning: ?Watch at your own risk and put your kids to bed.?
