Having becoming a Rangers fan in 2003-2004 (and not even following hockey prior to that), the words "Save by Lundqvist!" being yelled out by Sam have basically been synonymous with Rangers hockey for me. Consider myself pretty lucky to have gotten to see him play live several times, including right up close beside the bench which was a hell of an experience.

 

So many incredible playoff memories over the past decade, and this man has been an integral part of every single one of them.

 

Epic career, just wish June 2014 had turned out slightly differently.

Oh man, same here. That was a really well put together montage. I will miss those chants (and him) very much. I can't wait to hear them again when he has his night. That's going to be really emotional for everybody.

If anybody knows who Bob McCowan is, he has a fantastic Toronto-centric sports podcast, and had Weekes on yesterday, and they eventually get to Lundqvist near the end of it, some pretty cool insight there, I won't spoil it, but he goes through signing with NY, and then realizing how fucked he was after the first practice.
