Rod Gilbert, Dead at 80

Really unfortunate news. Like many others, I had the privilege of meeting Gilbert on multiple occasions and can only reiterate what others have said about his character. It says something that so many Rangers fans have had the opportunity to interact with and have such pleasant experiences with him. You could tell he really loved being a part of the organization and everyone around it.

Shows the type of guy Rod is.

As a season ticket holder, I got to meet (and share drinks) with #7. He was absolute gentleman. While I always gravitated more towards players of my era, like Adam Graves who was also a gentleman, I can honestly say that Gilbert was always a pleasure and treated fans and season ticket holders like family.

And he got funnier and funnier as the night wore on when you were at an open bar with him, lol.

May he Rest In Peace.
