Not on board with this.

The cost to acquire this "40G scorer" will be massive, and we're acquiring a #1C to play #3C so you aren't getting 40G production...the only upside is he's great at EV, only 3 PPG.

I just don't think there's value there, for us. Go after a 3C and pay a 3C price.

2C, Strome can go to RW

Rakell has been trending down hard for the last bunch of years though.

So. You're getting the same result on that wing.

But neither is a need. But if that's the player you want to target, Rackell is a cheaper option. He's played tourneys on Zibanejads wing with some success.

Why is Anaheim a seller?

Domi sucks.

Not really.  8 goals 8 assists. Puts him tied for 3rd in goals on the Rangers.  6th in points.  Hes not racking up PP points either. Hes 2 seasons removed from a 72 point season.

He's better than Chytil or Hunt. He's affordable. He's realistic.

Aim higher.

Nothing but 291 points in 451 games. Yeah. Terrible.

He's been in steady decline since his first year with the Habs and is 26. He's performing better in a smaller sample size this season, but has otherwise ben steadily producing fewer P/GP year-after-year. Again, aim higher.

Not much there that makes sense or is realistic. Aiming at reality. Domi, Brassard and any other declining up and down vet that produces 40+ points in a limited role.

You're not getting much by offering Chytil and Reunenen.  These are the types they are in the market for.

Id love to get Giroux,  but it's a pipe dream. I don't think they can afford the trade cost it would like likely take to get Pavelski. I think other teams are more desperate and will beat anything the Rangers are willing to deal.

I think you need to aim lower.
