Grass to glass, so they grow what they ferment and distill. Been to a couple of distilleries like that in upstate NY. The Big Angus isn't thrown into the kiln and the grains are distilled essentially raw, giving the rye a distinct earthiness to it. Never had anything like it. The bourbon is smooth and sweet, and a bit more refined than the average bottles. Bright Lights Big Bourbon is probably my least favorite of the four but still good. A bit harsh going down but still a nice sweetness. Will probably use it as my cocktail bourbon. The cider cask has a great hint of apple to it, would be great in a hot toddy or on it's own in the fall.

Cash or Czech
I guess I can use this thread to talk about what I'm drinking...lately? Just got back from Czech Republic and Poland. Tore through every local beer town to town after the bike rides. Duty free, picked up Kavalan Soloist Sherry Cask for 50% off, a travel-exclusive Macallan (Lumina) and Nikka Whiskey From The Barrel for a great price. Super excited to try them all Edited August 3, 2022 by Cash or Czech 1
Phil
Bumping this. Current favorite is Grand Old Fashioned 1 part Grand Marnier 1 part bourbon (using Russel's 10) Aromatic bitters On 3/7/2022 at 9:23 AM, siddious said: Hudson whiskey is dope. Haven’t had the others. They've set up at our local farmers market a few times in the last few years and I keep missing them, or I'm bringing the kids to the playground and mean to stop by, but they leave before we do and I never get a chance. Super curious, just don't wanna buy a whole bottle if I can sample it first.
siddious
Never been a big fan of Gin until recently. That’s my new go to when I’m out at a place that makes new cocktails. Usually that or an old fashion. at home these days I’ll tend to get a nice tequila and sip it. G4 has been my go to lately.

Aviation gin is surprisingly refreshing. It's the only one I can drink on the rocks that doesn't taste like nail polish remover.
