[RS] (#51) Rangers vs Washington Capitals — Red Bread Redemption

Drew a Penalty

Recommended Posts

May be the most complete game of the season.

1st line great, both ends. Shut down the other team

3rd line was noticeable.
4th line was awesome. Goodrow makes that line awesome. He gets Rooney and Reaves going, too.

defense was great

Shesterkin solid

most invisible players were Panarin and Fox… which is a great sign for the team.

I won't let the sloppy defense late and the busted shutout take away from the fact that was perhaps their biggest win of the year. Even if Washington wasn't great themselves, it's good to beat them. Their division record is great and they haven't even played Pittsburgh yet, another tough batch of games down the stretch.

Despite the garbage goal, this game was probably one of Ovie’s most ineffective games that he has played.

Probably spent the whole game distracted, thinking about how much Vlad needs him in Ukraine.

Morgan Barron looked good.  Must we go back to the four year Chytil as third line center experiment?

It's hard to rain on the parade of such a good effort (however abetted by a listless Caps team) but Strome's two needless penalties at the 20 minute marks were typical.  He takes more bad penalties without intimidating, or even irritating, anyone that it's infuriating.

Fuck, my alarm didn't go off, so I missed the game.

Igor being Igor, finally getting some 5v5 production, Laf with an apple(!!), Goat looked decent in the extended highlights, Kreids back on track, the real 4th line finally back together and giving the depth production we need. Also Penguins lost - perfect night.

Now get the W on saturday and start building a gap down to Pit/Was. Finishing 2nd in the division having home ice vs Pit or WAS will be huge.
