QUOTE(S) TO NOTE:

“We wanted to give Turk some more pieces. Obviously, goaltending has been terrific, special teams have been very good. With some of the players that we’ve lost, not only recently, but Sammy Blais for the year, we did want to give Turk and the coaches more pieces to maneuver and figure out how best to win games down the stretch here.”

I see Braun in for Schneider too.  Just to give him a little breather.

Jagr for trivia again.

Agreed on Schneider.  He has been a hair off perfect in the last little while,  No shame in giving him a break.

So the GM gave us a puncher's chance in the playoffs without gutting the talent pipeline in order to do so.  Good job there.

1. All new guys should be available tonight. Would expect Motte and Copp to play, at the very least.

2. Trivia is Kevin Weekes.

3. Fuck that weasel-faced piece of shit Adam Henrique and his entire family for fucking ever.

I mean, ideally we’re not moving Copp to wing in order to accommodate Chytil of all people 😅

I believe Copp regularly played on the left as well as center in Winnipeg, so it’s not moving him out of place as much as it is banking on his versatility. He takes faceoffs wherever he plays.

I had a lot of variations of my bottom 6 and had a tough time (but that’s a tremendous feeling, to have that kind of depth), so I can imagine Gallant will be feeling the same. I could see Goodrow-Copp-Hunt as easily as what I put. Chytil is a better player than Hunt though so I’m thinking Gallant tries to get the highest ceiling of a 3rd line together first.

Copp can play left wing, no problems with that.

It's just that in Copp we finally have a legit 3c who can both drive play from that position and take on tough defensive assignments. It seems counter productive to play him elsewhere, and Chytils performance as a center isn't anywhere near enough to even consider it imo.

Bingo!  Copp's that 3C a lot of us have been waiting for.  I've seen enough of Chytil and his baby-turd-soft play.

We need to unload him and that contract to make room for players like Copp.  I think Copp is a keeper, and I really hope Drury finds a way to re-sign him.

Could be. Should be interesting to see what Gallant goes with. I don’t think Gallant (or Chytil) views Chytil as an option on the wing though. I think Gallant has hinted at that in the past but I could be wrong. If that’s the case, are you moving him to 4C or the bench for tonight’s game? I considered 4C but that moves Brodz out and I didn’t want to do that. Brodz has been good, buzzing around the ice with speed and forechecking with purpose. So for me right now it came down to putting Chytil at 3C or on the bench. I know this board prefers the latter, but I do not agree with the board when it comes to Chytil. I would not take him out of the lineup completely. I would be pleasantly surprised if they tried him on the wing again though (Chytil-Copp-Goodrow).

Putting Chytil on any line robs of its identity because he has no identity.

Are you a center? No vision or creativity.

Are you a wing? Possibly but not in bottom 6.

Are you a scorer? Then score!

He's actually a fantastic 1 on 1 player in open ice which will help him in the KHL or the Danish super league, wherever he winds up first.

I'd put Chytil on the Panarin line until Kakko is back.

That way, if my long term 3rd line plan is Vatrano - Copp - Goodrow, they have as much time to gel as possible.

Then if Chytil actually clicks on the Panarin line, run your bottom 6 as...

Vatrano - Copp - Kakko

Goodrow centering - Reaves/Rooney/Motte

I'd put Chytil in the press box.  Maybe he can do an MSG commercial, or maybe be the new Zamboni driver.

I'm actually past trying to fit Chytil in anywhere...Pete hit the nail on the head with this one ..."he simply doesn't fit....anywhere"

Lines updated from practice. Copp playing wing. Chytil center.

No one has posted D pairs yet.

It’s really the right move for the first game. Copp and Chytil could work beautifully together.

It would seem that Gallant kind of likes Chytil. Sorry fellas! Maybe he gets that radio gig another day.
