I just hope it’s just not his year. When we’re ready to seriously compete he’ll light it up

Hopefully. He had some good stretches for sure, but he really didn't have those patented streaks where he would score goals in bunches. They weren't as plentiful, I mean.

Putting lipstick on a pig still leaves you with a pig.

Top 6 are all interchangeably weak. Easy to move off the puck, no battle, and not surprisingly- little to show for it on the score sheet.  Drury took a swing at it this year with Copp, Vatrano and Motte.. But the foundational weakness was just too much to overcome. The entire offseason game plan of hardening the roster was all nonsense.  Your core was soft, is soft, and will most likely always be soft.

Goodrow? Sure- no complaints what so over. He's absolutely been missed.

Reaves? Ehhh - Will hit, but he was no real deterrence this year. Presumably a good locker room guy, but watching this team go full pussy in the playoffs tells me his voice might not carry much weight. And realistically, if you are bringing in an old guy, who you are paying for intangibles rather than actual skill, wouldn't a guy with rings and some real tangible winning pedigree make more sense? After watching this playoff round, I don't get the trade, and I definitely don't get the extension.

Blais? - Who knows. Never had a chance to show anything.

Nemeth - Straight garbage. 3 year deal is the cherry on top of that shit sundae.

This series has been eye opening. The Canes/Bubble series is much closer to the reality of what this team is, not just a aberration..

What's James Dolan gonna do?!?!  Not much different from the bubble and when they got pushed around by the NYI/Tom Wilson which led to Gorton/JD's firings.

Rangers need to learn how to protect the front of their net better.

Where's someone to knock Crosby on his ass during the first goal?

How many tap in goals are they going to let up?

And all the deflections and screens from nobody moving people out of the way or tying up their sticks.

Make someone pay for going to the net.

Not entirely. Problem is a team built around Panarin, Zib and Strome is not suddenly turn into go to the net grinders when the playoffs start. They're always gonna be perimeter players looking to set up a perfect shot. We are seeing it right now; as much as you hate Crosby and Malkin, when the playoffs start they have that extra gear.

Igor may be a mess, but it's fixable and it's largely about team defense. Nemeth, Braun and Miller had collectively ZERO hits. Miller let Teddy Blueger, who is 4 inches and 50 lbs. smaller,s teal the puck in a scrum behind the NYR's net.

Think it was telling the only post game media availability I saw was 2 guys who have that grind it out mentality; Copp and Trouba.

I'll lay off the postmortems because there is still a chance. Onto Wednesday night.

Not a whole lot to cheer about last night for the Bar Room Brotherhood!!  Just an auspicious outing by boys after a very promising start.  The visible definition of "totally outclassed" creeps to mind.

That one was ugly to watch.

...And here are the Top 10 nominees for last night's “Ozzy Quote of the GDT”:

There’s more of a chance of Emma stone being airlifted to the bar I’m at to hand me a $100 bill and play with my balls than of Artemi Panarin taking a high quality shot.

Who sucked the testosterone out of this team

when they mentioned the panarin-zibanejad-kreider threesome at the end of the second period, thought maybe i should watch a porno instead, for the third

At least we can finally get rid of this Ted lasso believe shit.

NO QUIT IN NEW YORK.

Well, that is still true. They quit in Pittsburgh.

….and the winning quote for tonight’s GDT goes to @Sharpshooter, Sharpy who hits the bulls-eye with this one!

I never thought I would ever see this team toss in the towel like that last night.  I was embarrased to walk out of the bar with a Rangers jersey on.

Well, we ain't done just yet, so let's see if this team has any marble-sack left to compete, and try to win a game at home.

The team doesn't even know how to act in a playoff loss.

They wimper away.

So much for getting tougher they’re not doing any of the tough stuff that’s helps win in the playoffs. Throw a bit hit to change momentum. Go to the net. Start a scrum even if it’s for nothing.

the New York perimeter players.

reaves, kreider, brozinski, hunt, trouba, rooney Laf (still wating for that mean streak we heard about when he was drafted) all played.

If two guys being out is what killed this team then they had no business being here in the first place.

Thanks, Ozzy! Yeah, for a team that showed resilience all year, and never felt out of a game, them going into a fetal position because of the slightest bit of adversity here is staggering and embarassing.

Frankly surprising too - let's not pretend like we'd expect this given the year the team had. Gallant had this team battling every game and ready to play. It's like we took a time machine back to DQ era for this game.

Well, we ain't dead yet, fellas.  Let's see what kinda of fight we have in this team for game 5.  I wanna see who can stare in the face of adversity and play big boy hockey!

One period at a time

I'm with ya, Blue.  That 4th game is always the toughest one to win!

I wanna see us make it extremely difficult for these guys to put us away.  A win tomorrow would do wonders for this squad....(The team too!!  LOL)

Make 'em earn it!!!!

Rangers did it before, why not again?  Kreider was here in 2014, he needs to step up and be the voice in the locker room about the experience of coming back from 3-1.

Play smart, shutdown hockey, Rangers will get their offensive opportunities, gotta focus on the backcheck, and tighten up on D.
