QUOTE(S) TO NOTE:

"I think a number of nights, I’ve come in after the game and said, ‘I thought we played OK, not great, but OK.’ You look at the numbers and you say, ‘Well, we probably should’ve won that game.’ We had a chance to win, we were better than the other team, we had more chances and it didn’t happen. Last year was the complete opposite. We got dominated a lot of nights and we had a good record. I like the wins, but again, I think our team played OK for the most part of the season. We’ve had two or three really good games that I’ve liked. If we can be more consistent, play that 60-minute game, we’ve got a good chance to win every night. I loved our last game in San Jose."

— Gerard Gallant with his assessment on how the Rangers have played this season

  • Morphinity 2.0 changed the title to [RS] (#20) Rangers @ Los Angeles Kings — zZZzzZzZzZzZZzZzZZzZz

The point GG made about the Rangers essentially getting lucky last year was a good one.  That kind of luck does tend to revert towards the mean over time.

However each game is an independent result and if the Rangers really are playing better than last year they should snap out of the funk as a product of all those individual play better events.

I think I'm not going to get worried until the Rangers are multiple games out of playoff position and so far that has not been the case.

They have 211 points, they already won the President's Trophy...

Break-out game? Right the ship game? Cut the shit out already game?

*applause* for Gallant not sugar coating this crap streak TOO much. Yeah, last year was somewhat 'lucky' in hindsight and this year a bit unlucky. What's that about making your luck? Our boys need to pick up the rope and tug as a unit. Right now it seems they are mostly tugging their own units.

we all love rangers hockey but these late starts are killing me. better off getting my 8 hours of sleep and watching the condensed version in the morning

I'd be on this also but I love to watch the Rangers play and if I look at the score in the morning and it's a loss I won't watch.  I'll look at the highlights but the game is dead to me as soon as the horn sounds on a loss.
