Who would’ve thunk Fesey would drop a deuce against the Leafs.  Big win.

Laffy needs some AHL time…I’ve said it before…but, he gets two lucky goals and the NY media calls it his coming out…too slow at the moment.  But, can’t send a #1 pick down apparently…so, the Rangers will grind the kid into the dust, trade him, and he’ll be vying for Ovechkin’s goal record some day!  LOL…

He needs to be a healthy scratch for 2 games. Just sit and watch. If he asks why, all GG has to say is "you can do much better"

Hopefully they can beat a struggling Flyers team on the road and go to Chicago and get some revenge on that awful performance on home ice.

They've got some pretty tough opponents to close out the year, so they definitely gotta find a way to get 3-4 points this weekend.

Just watched the game.  Thought it was one of the best I've sen of them in a long time.  I also thought it was Panarin's best in probably a year and a half.  No points but completely engaged everywhere.  I thought he was awesome tonight.  Give me that and no points and I'll shut the fuck up forever. Igor was stellar.  The kids on the power play, please more of that too.  Great game and lastly I thought Kravtsov looked really good too.  The Rangers have got to let him play because watching him tonight, he maybe an answer to some depth issues and cap issues in the future.  He looked really good.

Welcome back once again, folks!!  Pretty entertaining tilt tonight, and we come up with a pretty nice win against yet another contender!

It surely wasn't a masterpiece, but it was certainly one of our better 60 minute efforts to date.

...And here are the Top 15 nominees for Ozzy’s Quote of the GDT, sponsored by the Suffolk County Highway Dept: Trouba's next employer, where he'll be a future traffic cone!

Trouba really can’t catch a break at all. When it rains suckiness it pours.

Surprised @Keirik hasn't noticed the stain in the middle of the camera lens yet. Having a bit too much fun while the wife is away eh...

Fuck, NY state lotto has a cat delivering scratch offs to peeps for the holidays. My cat only vomits on the rug. Ugh.

Vesey just showed more skill on one play than Krav or Laf, ever.... So stop bitching about a serviceable player.

Jimmy Vesey coming up huge tonight!  ...didn't see that one in the tea leaves for this one!!

Shesty is looking like he's unlocked "Jesus Mode" again.

…and the winning quote for tonight’s GDT goes to: @phillyb Philly!  Vesey doing it all last night...he's been giving it 100% pretty much every game;  great to see it starting to pay dividends!!

We go for 6 on Saturday night!!  Keep the faith, but most of all:  KEEP THE WIERD!!  @siddious

I don't know man. I think we watched different games. The Rangers got skated off the ice. Igor stole it. I don't think the Rangers have looked very good since the Vegas game. The team is going backwards in play, but Shesterkin is regaining form. So, silver lining I suppose.

Using NaturalStatTrick, in the 5 game win streak (Blues, Vegas, Avs, Devs, Leafs), 5v5 numbers:

Rangers xGF% (expected Goals For %): 39.49, 50.67, 34.09, 25.54, 28.53

Rangers HDCF% (High Danger Chance For %): 28.57, 47.06, 38.46, 18.75, 20.0

Meanwhile, Igor has a .933 SV% across that span. There's one reason, nay, two reasons why the team is 5-0 instead of 1-4 in the last 5: Shesterkin, and Binnington who turned in an absolute joke of a goaltending performance in the Blues game.

This team is getting skated off the ice. They are getting out chanced off the ice. The defense is a joke and letting up double digit high danger chances nightly. This stretch of results is absolute fool's gold. But as I noted earlier, they deserved a lot of wins early on in the season and got tagged with losses. Ebbs and flows I suppose, but if Igor can remain in form here and the team can group back up and put together efforts like the first month and a half of the season, they can do damage. I just don't see the structure to do it consistently.

I don't think they were better than Toronto.  What I think is that they stood toe to toe with one of the best in the league.   Of course they leaned on Igor.  They did like Toronto leans on Matthews or the Oilers McDavid.  He's our best player.  I actually see this team gaining depth the fourth line looks solid and the kid one is contributing.  I thought Panarin was creating tonight and not giving up on anything.  He actually had some decent chemistry with Zib for the first time ever.

I thought tonight the Rangers competed for the full 60.  Of course there are times when they get dominated.  Toronto will do that to every team in the league.  They withstood it and pushed back.  I thought both teams played well.  You're right though I don't think this team is a contender this year.  They are a very flawed team.  Right now they are winning on the backs of the goalie with time scoring from their kids and depth players.  That leaves me room to believe that if their top guys tart scoring and Trouba improves his play this team has room for big time improvement.  That said they didn't roll over when they could have tonight.  They leaned on Igor and competed.  It was enjoyable to watch.   It also seemed like finally GG has determined he has to get more form the rest of his lineup.  He gave the kids pp time and they scored a beauty.  He dressed Kravtsov and he looked really good.  He looked like a NHL player.

We're paying Vesey $750k for the year, and we got about $600k worth of that tonight.

Kind of nice to catch Marner on a night in which he turned the puck over six times.

From about the 10 minute mark of the third until there was five minutes left, we were getting the full Leafs treatment and were totally hemmed in.  I really liked the way we then stabilized the situation and got through the last five minutes without something looking like Game 2 of the Tampa series last year.

Now, no let down against Philly, who beat the Devils tonight.
