One step at a time... Great defense against a fast and high powered offense. The guys who needed to get off on the right foot did.

Nothing to complain about here.

I got you boo.

4th line stinky.

1st line meh at 5v5. Not convinced it’s going to be a match w/ Kakko.

Wheeler old and slow.

Gustafsson bad tonight.

Hopefully Wheeler has one last solid year in him. He came cheaply so can't complain too much. Hoping for 50-55 points from him.

4th should be better with Vesey. Can easily be improved.

1st line… give it a few games before I complain

wheeler.. 3rd line role I won’t complain much unless he ends up being absolutely useless.

Thought Gustafson was alright. 1 bad play.

Yeah, agree. To be clear, that fact my list of "complaints" is that low is a big win for game 1.

The list of happy observations is much longer.

Agreed.

If we have a system that doesn’t prohibit the offense from producing at their clip, we’re dangerous. The Rangers slowed a fast team down and limited their chances. Igor doesn’t need 5 goals a game to win while being under siege. Give him 3 a night and more often than not, we’re sitting pretty.

Very impressive start. Blocked shots, structure, PP still moved (Fox looks like he was told to shoot more too). I liked it all. Few little breakdowns but to be expected. Impressive night.
