Former Ranger Derrick Brassard Retires

Recommended Posts

He had some great moments here. He was always really good in big spots. Then on his way out, got us Mika from Ottawa for a good chunk of his best play (with hopefully more to come).

Very solid career.

I remember when he scored in Game 2 in LA in 2014 right after the Kings cut the lead to 3-2, my mind wandered. Only time that series it wandered. I remember saying we keep answering their call, we lost Game 1 off a horseshit turnover. I remember thinking we were coming home knotted up, we’re in control coming home. Lets fucking go. Right?! Right?!

And then Dan O’Halloran, who may be the worst official in NHL history, lets Henrik get physically assaulted in the 3rd and we know how the end goes in the overtimes.

Best times in NHL were with the Rangers, especially in the playoffs.  What a force he was in that series against Washington after he came at the deadline.  He was seriously banged up, like the rest of the team, when he scored that trick in Game 6 of the TB series in 2015.
