The name of the line is Bread: Italian and French.

The Bread Basket?

They need a nickname. Too good to not have one, and the Bread+Italian thing with Troch is too good not to play off of.

Yes, as I said, The nickname of the line is Bread: Italian and French.

You can't have a colon and a list in a line nickname. It's gotta flow. The Legion of Doom. The French Connection, The GAG Line

And we can't even use The Bread Line because that was the Cook brothers and Frank Boucher back in the early days.

Last year early they were good offensively at 5v5 but porous defensively, when they tightened up their defensive game, the offense went away.

The hope would be that they found the balance this season.

Or Lavvy should just embrace that this team operates differently. Lean into the strengths. They have a goalie asking for a lot of money.

As long as the offense is generating more chances, and high quality chances, than the other team, you take Igor to stop more than the other goalie. The important thing is to generate more chances than the other team and pressure the opposing goalie more than your own. I know they technically lost, but the Oilers got to G7 of the Finals last year while finishing 24th in xGA...yet they were 1st in xGF%. They leaned into the fact they could generate so much more offensively. If they only had a goalie...🙂

I'm not trying to downplay defense. A team needs to know when to tighten up and protect a lead at all costs, but that's a situational thing.

Lets not get carried away here. They played 4 games and all games were against non-playoff teams. Utah was scoring at will against our defense. Next game against Toronto is more of a test. I dont think the Rangers are settled in yet

I don't care about your made up rules.

Agreed. Need a decent sample size, maybe a quarter of a season. If they are sitting top 5-10 in key categories, it'll mean more. The Capitals are 3rd in xGF%, and the Islanders are 4th, so...things have to average out here.

There's nothing wrong with what you're saying here (except, EDM didn't lose because of the goalie, they lost because their best player put up 0's in G7, you of all people should be all over that 😉 ), but we're just 4 games in. No one is settled in yet. This entire month is made up of teams catching each other off-guard. There have been a lot of weird upsets in the first 2 weeks.

That's why I'm of the mind that you take the wins, there's a lot going right, bank the points. There will be other shit to complain about all season long.

Anything can happen in a G7. It's one game. They would have won in 5 with a goalie though.

I'm with you on the rest.

No one forces you to be an asshole, yet here you are doing what you do best. You know that you can put anyone you disagree with on ignore, but no, you dont want to miss a thing people post to complain about. Tyrant. When you call someone miserable you should look in the mirror first.

October is a strange month in the NHL.

In many ways, it really is just an extension of training camp and the preseason. The NHL preseason and camp is not even a month long, so teams need some extra time.

Coaches experiment. They juggle lines, mess with D pairings, move guys in and out of the lineup, etc, through those first 3-4 weeks to give things a longer look.

As a result, you see A LOT of screwy things and odd games. But you get a week or so into November and things stabilize.

Stat Boy Steven on fire today

Nah, he's just the original "Let's fix what isn't broken so that we can get my boy some stats".

Plus he's a weirdo pedo stalker. Camps out outside of Junior player's houses and shit like that.

Right, but it wont stop us from shitting on Zibby and Miller at will.

Wait, what? What "figuring out" was needed on the 3rd best PP in the league?
Also, when did it become a thing to share random Twitter posters opinions as 'news'? lol

Bro, you complained about us complaining.  Cant see how ironic that is? lol

I have a reason to complain. You don't. That's the difference.

The team is playing well, and you're complaining about Miller yet Miller is fine, second best defenseman to Fox in most metrics.

So you're whining just to whine. And all you do is whine.

The PP falls off a cliff as the playoffs progress. There's nothing wrong with getting different looks, especially when you can so clearly point to one individual not carrying much weight. Now is the time you can experiment a bit.
