All the hype surrounding Rempe's progress over the summer clearly didn't make any kind of meaningful impression on the coaching staff.  We'll need a new mascot for the time being as a result.

I'm not a Rempe stan, and I think the arguments last playoffs about him being in the lineup for 5 min a game as a driving reason for winning games were bordering on a ridiculous, but I still saw a 4th line NHL player who could be impactful and give the team a dose of energy at times. It does confuse me why he's getting the short end of the stick here.

With that said, sitting him in the press box is a poor plan so they had to send him down to work on his game if they weren't going to use him.

I don't think it shows that they don't reward hard work. Edstrom, Jones and Mancini also worked hard and earned their spots as regulars in the lineup with their standout play, even Brodz, although he's always been a tweener type player anyway, but whatever. As stated, Vesey will be returning relatively soon, As hard as Rempe worked, maybe it still wasn't enough for the coaches to put him in there. So, now he can play regularly down in Hartford. I like Rempe, and think he'll be a good bottom six player, but let's also settle down a bit. lol

I guess I get why they sent him down if he's not getting playing time up here but I would say my issue with the line up is.......last night......Rangers got manhandled vs. the Panthers in the ECF, last night would have been the game to both have Edstrom/Rempe in there to be a force, give pushback, show the Panthers the Rangers aren't pansies and can play tough.  Instead Brodz is in.  Not saying Rempe would have made a difference on the scoreboard, but put some secondary thoughts in the Panthers head that Edstrom/Rempe are both on the ice and push them around a bit.  Its early in the season, and to put that in their heads early in the season can go a long way.  Instead we went with the pansy lineup.
